PEC Tokyo 39th Morning Mission: GT Models

Posted: April 26, 2026 Updated:

The theme for the 39th episode is GT Models.

The 39th Porsche Moming Mission took place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and its theme was "GT Models."

I was able to participate again on this day.

Since the theme was GT models, the car was a 997.1 GT3. On the morning of that day...I did some morning activities and also went to Futtsu Cape.^^

My time management after my morning activities was perfect, and I arrived at PEC Tokyo just in time for the opening.

Afterwards, I was busy with registration and chatting with acquaintances I'd already met at the venue...

Here it comes, here it comes, here it comes!

This is the 356 Speedster of the person I had the pleasure of joining me on this morning's mission.

Meeting this car was one of the things I was looking forward to most that day.

So cute!

It was an absolutely stunning Porsche. Wow, I was so happy to see it!

More and more Porsches kept gathering after that.

The time for chatting with the people I was with began.

This time when I can casually greet and chat with everyone is the best.

I was busy chatting that day and didn't have much time to properly look at all the Porsches that had gathered, but this one in particular made me go "wow."

Isn't this a 911 S/T? Amazing! So cool!

There was a green Porsche parked next to where I parked, so I guess it made the area look a bit flashy?

The green car had little frogs and other decorations on it ^^

After a while, it was time for the day's Morning Mission event (?), so everyone gathered in front of the building.

First, we heard greetings from Mr. Imoh, CEO of Porsche Japan. The event was emceed by motor journalist Yuko Iida.

CEO Imoo announced, "We have two 'announcements' to make here today."

The first of these announcements was that these thermos mugs featuring the PEC Tokyo logo would go on sale starting that day.

This is an incredibly limited edition product with only 25 pieces available, each with its own serial number.

After that first announcement, the event moved on to a talk show featuring racing drivers Masami Kageyama and Yuya Sakamoto.

I initially thought the discussion would focus on Porsche's GT models, but halfway through, a representative from Porsche Japan joined in, and the focus shifted to an introduction of PTX (Porsche Track Experience → Porsche's official driving lessons).

This yearIn addition to being held at Fuji Speedway on May 28th and 29th, there are also plans to hold an event at Suzuka Circuit in August. It is said that this is happening.

This is a great opportunity for those who previously couldn't go to FSW because it was a bit too far, or for those who have always wanted to do it at Suzuka!

Next up was the remaining announcement from the two announcements that Imo-san had mentioned earlier... Well, I'm sorry to say this, but the first announcement was "A new limited edition thermo mug is on sale starting today."

So, your brain automatically assumes that the second announcement won't be that big either, right? Doesn't that ever happen to you?

So, even though I didn't know what the announcement was about, when the Porsche Japan representative came forward to explain (make the announcement), I watched with a smile.

I vaguely remember hearing something like "announcement of a new model," so I was thinking maybe it was an announcement that a new model car would be released today? (laughs)

But! !!

This second announcement is the one I wrote about the other day.The announcement of the "Porsche 911 GT3 Artisan Edition," a model commemorating the 30th anniversary of Porsche Japan. That's how it was.

Well, I feel like the morning missions at PEC Tokyo this year have changed a bit from before, with things like these secret events added in, and they've really put some thought into it.

Delivery ceremony at PEC Tokyo: A surprising simultaneous delivery of two vehicles.

After the introduction of PTX and the announcement of the two items (ThermoMug and 911 GT3 Artisan Edition), the morning mission for the day came to a close.

I wrote "for a moment" because there were some very special events that day. First, anyone who wanted to hear/see more details about the Artisan Edition that had just been announced had the opportunity to be given information by a Porsche representative. Second, "there are some people who will be having their car delivered at PEC Tokyo later."

Yes, it's possible to have your new Porsche delivered here at PEC Tokyo, and I also had my car delivered here before. We once delivered a 718 Cayman GT4 RS here...

But this delivery wasn't just any ordinary delivery.

Because, look at this, this.

Wait, do we need two?

That's right, it wasn't two separate customers receiving their cars; rather, one couple received both cars at the same time, resulting in an unbelievable simultaneous delivery ceremony for both vehicles.

I've seen Porsches that were shrouded in veils before, but it's extremely rare to see two of them side-by-side like this, so just seeing them together in this state is incredibly cool!

Then, when the time came, both cars went to the unveiling ceremony simultaneously.

The Porsches that came out were... incredible.

A Spider RS and a GT3! You and your spouse will be driving both of these cars... That's incredible.

Incidentally, at that time, I was secretly watching from the sidelines as these two cars were delivered, and I couldn't help but have a lot of questions popping into my head.

First, let's look at the license plates attached to these two vehicles.

Both cars had different license plates, and at a glance, they were numbers that couldn't possibly be someone's birthday, yet they looked like they were custom-ordered numbers. However, they didn't seem to be numbers related to Porsche, so I was agonizing over it from the shadows, wondering, "Why did they choose those numbers?!" (laughs).

Then, a miracle happened to me: later that day, at another event, I was able to meet the couple who had taken delivery of those two cars that day, and I was able to ask them all the questions I had. Isn't that an incredibly touching coincidence?

Ultimately, one number relates to the start of the history of models bearing the Porsche Spyder name, and the other relates to the time Porsche achieved at the Nürburgring. Well, can I just say one thing?

That's way too niche, isn't it? (lol) *I'm writing this with permission.

I also had the pleasure of hearing about various other things, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.I'll share more about that event at a later date.

After the car delivery ceremony at PEC Tokyo, I had lunch with everyone who was with me that day at Restaurant 906 inside PEC Tokyo.

Since it was the weekend, lunch was a buffet. From appetizers/salads…

There are various main dishes too. But you can't really see them, can you? (lol) ↓

There were a variety of desserts, and I had so many interesting stories to share with the people I went with, so I ended up eating a lot while chatting.

It was a very eventful day, and as always, I had a great time.

While I appreciate the packed schedule of the morning mission, it also means there's less time to interact with the participants and to leisurely admire everyone's Porsches. So, next time, I think it might be better to start by having everyone enjoy a cup of coffee and take a tour of the Porsches upon arrival.

It was really fun talking to so many people. I also made some new connections through this event.

I'm grateful to Porsche Japan for providing the Morning Mission, a place where I can meet and interact with all of you who share the common interest of "loving Porsche"!

On this day, as I always do when I come to PEC Tokyo, I checked on the growth of the Somei Yoshino cherry trees before heading home.

I wasn't able to see any flowers bloom this year either... I'll definitely be able to next year.

After leaving PEC Tokyo, I made sure to stop by Costco in Kisarazu on my way home.

I was a little worried about whether it would fit, but the toilet paper fit easily in the back seat. That was a relief! (lol)

Summary of the 40th Morning Mission

The next event, the 40th in the series, will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with the theme "My First Porsche".

Wait, "My First Porsche"???

For me, the black Carrera was my very first car, and it remains my most beloved car to this day.

I'm sure that for many other people, their "first Porsche," even if they've already sold it, was probably their favorite Porsche or the one they remember most fondly.

It has also been announced that the guests for this episode will be Satoshi Suzuki, CEO of Loopwheeler, and Kohei Takada, editor and producer.

It will certainly be clear that Loopwheeler representative Mr. Suzuki has a love for Porsches, and this time, as mentioned the other day...LUFT TOKYOPerhaps we can hear from Mr. Takada, who just successfully completed his previous event, about the challenges he faced in organizing LUFT TOKYO, behind-the-scenes stories, and what happened on the day and afterward?

For those who enjoyed LUFT TOKYO, just going to hear their stories would make for a fun day out!
