A Japan-exclusive model commemorating the 30th anniversary of Porsche Japan.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in a morning mission held at the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo (PEC Tokyo), where they made an exclusive announcement of some incredible information that "has not yet been released to the public," which made me extremely excited.

*Regarding this matter, I was told at the time of the announcement that "you can tell your friends about this announcement," and I also confirmed with Porsche Japan again afterward to be sure if it was okay to write about what I heard that day on my blog. I received their permission, as long as I do not include any photos, so I would like to write about it.

*The photos in this blog are for reference only and are of the already announced 992.1 model equipped with the GT3 Manthey kit; they do not represent the upcoming model.

The announcement was a complete surprise: "We're releasing a limited edition of 30 Porsche 911s." I was truly astonished because I never imagined such a major announcement would be made at the Morning Mission.

Thinking about the possibility of these kinds of secret surprises makes me even more excited to participate in the morning mission!

The limited-edition Porsche announced this time is based on the '992.2 Porsche 911 GT3'.

This car will be fitted with a Manthey Racing Manthey kit, and its design, both inside and out, will feature a range of shades from deep blue to light blue, inspired by Japanese indigo dyeing.

Since it's equipped with the Manthey kit, it also has aero discs on the rear wheels, so you can tell at a glance, "Hmm? Is that a GT3 with the Manthey kit?"

*This is the 992.1 model GT3 equipped with the already announced Manthey kit, and not the Artisan Edition which will be announced in the future.

Furthermore, its performance is excellent thanks to the Manthey kit's aero parts and suspension, and since it's basically a car intended for use on the racetrack, it will only be available in left-hand drive and PDK transmission.

On that day, I was also shown the catalog for the 911 GT3 Artisan Edition, which was already completed. It featured a white base body with various shades of blue inspired by beautiful indigo dyeing, and a design reminiscent of the checkered flag decal on the 997.2 911 GT3 RS, flowing from the front to the rear of the vehicle.

The interior also featured a design developed exclusively for this vehicle, with a gradient from white to blue in the center of the seats, and various parts of the interior incorporated indigo blue to express a Japanese aesthetic.

Incidentally, when I first saw it in the catalog, I thought, "Wow, that's cool!" But then another staff member showed me some photos of the actual vehicle on their smartphone, and the vehicle in those photos looked even more overwhelmingly cool!

I'm not sure what the difference is, but the smartphone photos looked better, so I think this is a car that will have an undeniable coolness that can't be captured in photos once you see the "real thing."

Incidentally, this 911 GT3 Artisan Edition was designed by Shuichi Yamashita, the only Japanese designer at Porsche AG, which I think also symbolizes that this is a 911 exclusive to Japan.

The Artisan Edition, limited to 30 units, will feature a handwritten signature from Mr. Yamashita and some kind of "message" on each car. The content of the message is still a secret. I wonder what it will be?

In fact, this 911 GT3 Artisan Edition has been planned and developed in cooperation with Porsche AG in Germany and Porsche Japan for about two years now. It is scheduled to be featured in magazines such as Genroku and Engine on April 26, 2026, and will be officially announced (press release) by Porsche Japan the following day, April 27, 2026.

The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale at the end of May 2026. It seems you can now inquire with dealers, so if you're interested, please do so.
