Celebrating Porsche's birthday with Porsche-loving women over hot pot.

Yes, the title doesn't really make sense from the start (lol), but June 8th, 2026 was Porsche's birthday.

To be precise, I'm just calling it its birthday, but June 8th is actually the day in 1948 when the Porsche 356 "No.1" Roadster received its license for public operation, marking the first time that Porsche was introduced to the world as "PORSCHE."

Since learning about this, every year on June 8th I secretly celebrate by saying, "Happy Birthday, Mr. Porsche," but such celebrationsI had a great time hanging out with Porsche-loving women for the first time.That was in 2024.

At that time, we all got drunk in Asakusa, and it was so much funThey even forgot their main purpose: to celebrate Porsche's success!I was drunk (so pathetic, lol).

And now it's 2026.

On June 8, 2026, I was at a hot pot restaurant in Shinjuku.

This shop was recommended to me by one of the Porsche-loving women, and as far as I could see, it was full of Chinese customers, to the point where I wondered, "Are we the only Japanese customers here?" It felt like I was in China.

The staff members seem to be communicating in Chinese.

On this day, five women who own Porsches got together and immediately ordered hot pot.

So, this strange orange substance (rumored to be beef fat) is covered in chili peppers, and then soup is poured over it and heated up.

By the way, the two types of soup are: one is a sour soup similar to hot and sour soup, and the other is a dangerously spicy hot pot.

The purpose of the Porsche Girls gathering that day was,Sally, who participated in the race the other dayThis is a get-together to thank everyone for their hard work and to celebrate Porsche's birthday.

In 2026, Porsche will celebrate its 78th anniversary since the first car was registered as a Porsche. Congratulations!

It truly is "78 Years of Dreams."

I've only known about Porsche for the last few years out of its 78-year history, but even so, Porsche has always made me so happy, brought me so much joy, and helped me expand my network of wonderful connections. I think the incredibly positive impact that Porsche has had on so many people over these 78 years is immeasurable.

So, cheers!

This restaurant had a wide variety of condiments and seasonings for hot pot, and you could take as much as you liked.

The Porsche-loving ladies each enjoyed the dish in their own way, some adding extra cilantro because they love it, while others tried it with sesame sauce for a milder flavor.

I initially thought the chopsticks were serving chopsticks for picking up food from the pot, but it turns out they were also the regular chopsticks used for eating. Can you see the difference?

It's really long (lol). Seriously, it's the size of cooking chopsticks.

And so, we enjoyed a pleasant time eating hot pot and chatting about various things.

I believe that the friends I've made through Porsche are a miraculous relationship—not classmates from school or colleagues from work, but people who met as adults and are able to hang out and have fun together like this.

As usual, it was a fun time filled with laughter, but on this particular day, it wasn't just laughter that was constant; everyone was also sweating and sniffling (lol).

Because, you know, this is really spicy!

I can handle spicy food fairly well (and so can the other girls), but even we found it quite intense after a while, and by the end we were all gasping for air.

The hot pot is getting more and more garish in color (lol).

In fact, some people even ordered dessert in between meals, saying, "I want something sweet!" while still eating the hot pot, so we ended up having several desserts interspersed throughout our hot pot time.

On this day, one of the Porsche ladies brought in a Ferrari Spumante, so we ended up drinking Ferrari as well (please overlook the fact that we were drinking Ferrari on Porsche's birthday (lol). And of course, we had applied to the restaurant in advance and gotten permission to bring it in), but our taste buds were so numb that even the Ferrari tasted "sweet!"

In the future, whenever the topic of this Ferrari comes up with someone, I'm sure I'll end up saying, "Ah, that one's incredibly sweet, isn't it?"

It feels like I've only talked about how spicy the hot pot was, but seriously, it was a fun time! We were celebrating Porsche's birthday, but the spiciness got to the point where we couldn't even think about Porsche anymore (lol).

Congratulations to Porsche on their 78th anniversary!

Thanks to Porsche, I am grateful every day for the opportunity to meet wonderful people through Porsche, to talk about Porsche, and to enjoy it together.
