Porsche sales in the first half of 2024 will be 155,945 units

Porsche's worldwide sales figures for the first half of 2024 have been announced.

The number of units was...oops, it was 155,945 units, down 71 TP1T from the same period last year (167,354 units).

Porsche is said to be reducing this number due to the complex transition that is involved in updating five of its six model series, as well as temporary gaps in the range of individual markets and model series.

Even in such circumstances, Porsche has shown strength over the past six months.

Europe is OK, China is the worst

Looking at the number of deliveries by region for the first half of 2024, what's surprising is that Europe is the only region that is seeing an increase compared to the same period last year.

Germany was the strongest, with sales up 221 TP1T to 20,811 units. Sales in other European countries also increased by 61 TP1T to 38,611 units.

However, all other regions saw a decrease compared to the same period last year, with China being the worst by far, with the number of units sold decreasing 33% compared to the same period last year to 29,551 units.

Porsche attributes the worst part of the situation in China to the country's continuing tense economic situation and the country's focus on price-conscious sales.

In North America, there was a period of time when deliveries were delayed due to customs-related issues, but the company managed to catch up and post strong performance for the quarter.

Certainly, given that deliveries had to be halted for a while, is it a good result that it only took -6%?

The Cayenne is doing well, and the Macan is unusually -18%, but this is said to be due to a model change. It is certainly the timing for the EV Macan to come out, so some people may be waiting for that,Production of the ICE Macan has already been suspended in the European market.I think there are other big reasons for this.

Is there a big rush to buy the last ICE 718s? I wonder.

Even so, the Panamera (-25%) and Taycan (-51%) are amazing.

Porsche says it will continue to focus on three drive systems through 2024: fully electric vehicles, efficient plug-in hybrids and exciting internal combustion engines. The company believes that these three options will position it well for the future and enable it to offer cars that are attractive to all customers, regardless of preferences or trends around the world.

Certainly, this year there was a big event with the announcement of the 992.2 911, and I think that the number of cars will have a big impact at some point, so I would like to see it in the future.
