I went to Porsche Studio Nihonbashi to see the new Porsche Cayenne Electric.

The New Cayenne Electric Secret Preview

One evening in June 2026, an event called "The New Cayenne Electric Secret Preview" was held at Porsche Studio Nihonbashi.

This is the unveiling event for the new Cayenne Electric (hereinafter referred to as Cayenne EV).

I decided to participate because I knew some of the attendees, and more importantly, it was a rare opportunity to see the all-electric Cayenne EV up close.

And of course, this is what I was most looking forward to at this event ^^

Oh, no, this one.

Just kidding! (laughs)Probably the truth

Of course, the main reason for my visit that day was to see the Cayenne EV.

Since this was the unveiling event for the Cayenne EV, they had chili-flavored syrup available in honor of the Cayenne pepper, and highballs were garnished with Cayenne pepper, which was a nice touch.

New Cayenne Turbo Electric

Now, let's take a look at the Cayenne Turbo Electric that we encountered that day.

The price of the Cayenne Turbo EV is ¥21,010,000.

For comparison, here's how it compares to other turbo models of the Cayenne currently available for purchase:

  • (Fully electric) Cayenne Turbo Electric: 21,010,000 yen
  • (Fully electric) Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric: 21,650,000 yen
  • (Hybrid) Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: 24,900,000 yen
  • (Hybrid) Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe: 25,480,000 yen
  • (Hybrid) Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe w/ GT Package: ¥29,030,000

The Cayenne Turbo EV on display boasts 850kW (1,156PS) of power (with launch control enabled), and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds.

Despite being such a large SUV, its acceleration is incredible.

Not only does it offer high performance, but its adaptive air suspension, including active suspension management, allows for comfortable driving even off-road.

Optional features include Active Ride (in Comfort Driving mode, the longitudinal and lateral forces applied during acceleration, braking, and cornering are almost completely canceled out).

And the Cayenne EV, above all, will be offered as an option in the future (scheduled for the latter half of 2026),It can also be charged wirelessly. It is.

It's a shame we weren't able to see how contactless charging would work this time around.

Even with charging from a regular port, the charging time has been shortened and the driving range has been extended.

  • AC charging ports on both sides, high-output DC charging port on the left side.
  • 800V fast charging compatible
  • DC fast charging offers a maximum of 390kW, and up to 400kW under certain conditions.
  • Charge from 10% to 80% in 34 minutes, even in cold or extreme heat.
  • It supports AC charging up to 11kW at home, with an optional up to 22kW.
  • The Charging Planner calculates charging points and charging times along the route, pre-conditioning the battery before arrival.

Porsche's warranty on the hybrid battery is as follows:

  • High-voltage battery with 8-year or 160,000 km warranty
  • Battery capacity is also guaranteed, and is guaranteed to be at least the initial capacity of 80% for 3 years or 60,000 km.
  • The warranty will continue to cover capacities of 70% or higher until the end of the warranty period (8 years or 160,000 km).
  • *In the sections marked "or" above, the earlier of the two will apply.

These wheel arch trims are exclusive to this turbo EV model, emphasizing its off-road capabilities.

New Cayenne Turbo EV Flow Display

Now, one of the selling points of the Cayenne EV was said to be its display area, which is the largest in Porsche history.

It's certainly big ↓

This central feature is called the 'Flow Display,' which seamlessly connects the dashboard to the center console.

There's a space below the display where you can rest your wrists, so you can operate the display while resting your wrists there.

...But on this day, I completely forgot about that and was just casually touching the display with my wrist slightly raised (lol).

If you open up the area under the wrist rest...

Cup holders and smartphone charging areas have been added.

It also has a USB Type-C port (which looks like it supports fast charging?) and a 12V cigarette lighter socket, which seems very convenient.

On the opposite side, there were two USB-C ports, and a wireless charging tray for smartphones was positioned vertically.

Now, since we're here, let's take a look at the driver's seat as well...

Although I didn't try it this time, this Cayenne EV is said to be compatible with digital keys, meaning you can unlock, lock, and start the vehicle with your smartphone, and that key can be shared with up to 7 people.

However, I'm an old-fashioned person, so I still think I'd be too scared to use my computer without carrying a physical key with me. ←Someone who can't keep up with technology.

To start the car, press this button located on the right side when facing the steering wheel ↓

The gear selector is located on the left side.

The Cayenne EV is big, but the gearbox is small, so it looks really cute because it's so tiny!

Once I was allowed to sit in the driver's seat, there was something I really wanted to check.

However, since I couldn't test the function in this "key not found" state, I thoughtlessly asked the staff at Porsche Studio Nihonbashi, "Excuse me, could you at least turn the ignition on?" but they replied, "It's an electric car, so we can't start the engine (smirk)," and I was like, "Oh no!"

Of course, it was just a joke, so it wasn't meant as a serious sarcastic remark.

But you just can't help saying it, right? Like, "Can you start the engine?"

But normally, it should be something like, "Can you turn the switch ON?" or "Can you turn on the power?"

So, I successfully managed to "turn on" the power. It's like talking about home appliances.

AR (Augmented Reality) Head-Up Display

This is what I wanted to confirm, even going so far as to ask you to turn on the power.

I understand?

Well, it's not easy to figure out, is it?

This is a photo taken from the driver's seat, showing what's in front of you through the windshield (your field of vision)...↓

It's so far away here!

Can you see the message displayed in the yellow circle?

From the driver's seat of the Cayenne EV parked inside Porsche Studio Nihonbashi, the distance to the cars on display outside the store gives the impression that there's some kind of digital display.

Yes, this is what the optional AR (augmented reality) head-up display looks like, which is what I wanted to see.

This system visually displays an 87-inch screen area 10 meters in front of the vehicle, making it very easy to understand when using navigation or other functions.

You might appreciate its convenience even more if you actually use the navigation system to guide you while driving on the road.

One more thing I wanted to see was the mood mode selection.

It's a feature that allows you to create the atmosphere inside the car to your liking, but since this was my first time using the Cayenne EV, I was already fumbling around just trying to get to the mood mode selection screen.

"Oh, it looks like I can choose the mood mode!"

At that point, I gave up (I tried again when the other participants started leaving and it became free, but then it was time to go home (lol)).

Nevertheless, I was able to see and confirm many things I wanted to see, and it was enjoyable.

Finally, let me quickly introduce a few more features. This is the rear seat, which comes standard with electric adjustment.

The sunroof as seen from inside the car.

The trunk of the Cayenne EV, which was said to have a capacity of 781 to 1,588 liters, looks like this.

Opening the bottom reveals this view. There's also an additional 90 liters of storage space in the front.

Finally, to conclude, I'd like to share three things that impressed me the most after seeing the Cayenne Turbo EV today.

First of all, the words "Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur" were inscribed under the headrest of this car, and I wondered if this might be related to that...

This!! ↓

When you open the door, the door courtesy light is projected onto the road surface. And guess what? It's designed like a Pegasus!!

I've never seen anything like this before!

What's more, not only the front doors, but also the rear doors had Pegasus courtesy lights.

And the second one.

The second thing is how to open the door handle from the inside of this Cayenne EV.

Normally, when you see the handle in this picture, wouldn't you imagine opening the door by reaching in from the side and pulling the lever upwards from below?

But in reality, you open it by pulling the door handle (lever) downwards in the direction indicated by the yellow arrow.

Why did they suddenly change direction like this?Did I install it the wrong way? (Of course not! lol)

And finally, the third one, yes, sorry to have kept you waiting.

I understand, everyone.

Thank you for reading this blog up to this point. There is a pen holder inside the glove compartment."Was there one? Or was there not?" That's what I've been wondering all along, right?

I understand, I understand. I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting.

So, to all Porsche pen holder enthusiasts around the world, please enjoy this!

Yes, I found it, the pen holder ↓

Huh? Oh, you don't care about that?

I'm sorry (laughs).

I was alone in my Cayenne EV, nervously opening the glove compartment... and then exclaiming, "Yes, there it is!" Haha.

With drinks flowing, it was a fun encounter with the Cayenne Turbo EV while chatting with everyone.

To everyone at Porsche Studio Nihonbashi, thank you again for another wonderful time.

Afterwards, we headed to a second location very close to Porsche Studio Nihonbashi... ^^
