Megaweb Toyota City Showcase @ Odaiba

Posted: Posted:

It was the weekend of August 2019 when the Super GT race was held at Fuji Speedway.

Due to various circumstances, a miracle occurred in which all three children in our house disappeared from the house (each went to stay somewhere). No, this is really a miracle! I'm too happy! I'm glad that I'm a bad mother (laughs).

No, that was a miracle day, so I went to a hotel in Odaiba with my husband.

This time it was my husband's driving, so I went with Ferrari ...

When I parked in the hotel parking lot, there was also a bright red F355 Berlinetta. The bright red cars stand out in the dark parking lot ^^ Nice.

Well, like that, I went to Odaiba without any particular meaning, but there really is no particular purpose at all.

Usually (I sometimes stay in Odaiba, but I have children), I usually stay at the hotel, because it's a pool, and because it's a meal, I'm relaxing. But this time, I decided to go sightseeing in Odaiba.

Anyway, I have an image that Odaiba seems to be crowded everywhere, so I haven't always looked around at all and I don't know much about it. I only know about Tokyo Big Sight ^^

Even though I usually live in the same Tokyo, I am a complete tourist who first searches for "sightseeing spots in Odaiba" on the Internet.

As a result of the search ... Well, I've heard it everywhere, but it seems that everywhere is crowded, and I'm depressed even before I go. Zero willingness to go ...

And then.

Ah. "MEGA WEB" is relatively close to where we are! I noticed that, on that day, I was also doing public viewing of Super GT held at Fuji Speedway.

That sounds a little interesting. That's why I took a peek at Toyota's city showcase "Megaweb"!

When I enter. Oh, I'm doing it.

There was live viewing of Super GT. Commentary? I was able to watch the Super GT live through some TV screens in an environment where the cooler was quite comfortable.

If you watch the game on the same TV, I think it's more fun to get together with car lovers and watch the game than to watch it alone at home. However, it didn't seem to contain alcohol (well, I don't need it (laughs) ??).

I was also interested in public viewing, but if I started watching the game here, I wouldn't be able to do anything else, so this time I'd like to see off the Super GT game and explore the Mega Web.

The cars were really exhibited in a large space.

Of course, all the cars on display are Toyota cars.

From the model I knew to the model I didn't know (I don't know well, I'm sorry. I only know Porsche ^^), various cars were exhibited.

I was able to get in any car, so I took a lot of things.

I don't know which model is in the car anymore, but Sienta, Voxy, Esquire, C-HR, Prius, Aqua ... and so on!

What surprised me most was that a large car such as Vellfire had a better view from the driver's seat and seemed to be easier to drive than a small car such as Aqua.

The backseats are large and comfortable, and I'm worried that if the kids know this backseat, they'll never come back to my 911 backseat. I did (laughs).

Also, I was surprised to find a car with gears in such a place.

Furthermore, there was a Japan taxi! !!

You can't usually sit in the driver's seat of a Japan taxi, so let's get on! I was happy to approach it, but ... sorry. Only Japan Taxi couldn't get in the driver's seat.

After all, the taxi driver's seat is a special seat that only the taxi driver can ride! (Is it different ^^).

later,I saw it in the city beforeThis ultra-compact electric vehicle "COMS".

I tried riding it, but it looks like a toy ... I'm a little scared and may not have the courage to drive on public roads (in Tokyo).

There is also an exhibition of the world's first hydrogen-powered car called MIRAI.

It seems that this yellow part ↓ is the "high pressure hydrogen tank", and I'm a little scared that such a high pressure hydrogen tank is on it, but what about it? Of course, I think it's usually safe, but when I think about what to do with this tank in the event of an accident.

However, in the unlikely event of a fire, when a temperature of 110 degrees is detected, hydrogen is automatically released in the direction toward the dangerous ground, so it seems that flame radiation will occur in that direction. It doesn't mean that it's an explosion with Dokan.

This is a safety simulator where you can experience Toyota's safety technology in a simulation.

There were also various hands-on experiences such as using virtual reality.

This is to introduce the technology to understand people by artificial intelligence and automatic driving technology through the driving experience in VR space (By the way, I am not riding ^ ^ ↓).

Here is the one I tried riding this time. "Lexus Safety System + A Simulator".

The advanced preventive safety package Lexus Safety System + A adopted for the Lexus LS can be virtually experienced in a car.

Get in the car.

This is the image seen from inside the car to the front. It's a three-sided monitor, but the car sways, so I was surprised to find that it felt like I was really running.

Here you can experience safety systems that avoid four major accident types (vehicle collision, pedestrian, track deviation, and head-on collision).

If it's extremely crowded, you don't have to wait in line for minutes, but if it's rattle, it would be interesting to try it. I'm glad we got on this time too ^^

After that ... the cars were on display on the 2nd floor, but there was also a car on the 1st floor, so when I went down ... there were 86 / BRZ race cars.

Oh oh. Hachiroku-san is here too! TOYOTA 86.

It's a big deal, so I'll try riding it. Wow, for the first time.

I just got on it, so I didn't know what it was, but I was a little happy to be able to sit down with the famous Toyota 86.

Furthermore, Supra. Many people from overseas were also interested in watching this.

It seems that there was also a classic car area, but for the time being, I took a quick look and finished.

After that, a test drive course where you can test drive a Toyota car is also made around Megaweb, so I wanted to test drive 86 or something, but unfortunately the reservation for this day is already full.

It seems that test drive reservations are accepted from two weeks in advance, so it is natural that it is already filled with people with proper planning.

It seems that it was difficult to go and test drive on the day like us. Especially during the summer vacation!

By the time I got home, it was getting dark.

It was a mega web that I came up with and stopped by, but it was fun ^^
