Porsche 911 Carrera T: Replaced with silver crest, black stone guard installed

Posted: July 11, 2023 Updated:

I felt like I was told to make the Carrera T monochrome

This Porsche 911 Carrera T..

The reason why I decided to make this Carrera T specification "thoroughly silver x black monochrome!" Was because the Carrera T's wheel center crest could only be selected in monochrome.

In the Carrera T, the crest at the wheel center was monochrome as standard, and there was no option to change to a colored crest.

I know it is possible to change to a colored crest later in Tequipment, though.

But the point is that Porsche didn't make an option to change it to a colored crest.

As Porsche, are you saying that this Carrera T should be monochrome? … Well, if Porsche was going to do that, I will do it! I started burning with a vague fighting spirit (laughs).

Porsche Silver Crest

Once I decided to make it monochrome, the first thing I thought of was to change the crest on the front to a silver crest.

Isn't this silver crest lovely? ? ?

Originally it is a silver crest made by processing a genuine crest, but it is not a genuine Porsche option.

At first, I was looking for it overseas, but then I suddenly thought, "Isn't it sold in Japan?" Considering the current depreciation of the yen and shipping costs, I thought it would be safer to purchase it in Japan, so I purchased it here.

The shop where I purchased it is "Y-Squared"→Click here for Y-Squared website.

If you would like to purchase it, please let me know that you saw my blog and I think shop will understand immediately ^ ^

The difference from the original Gold Crest is like this. cool ↓

Porsche crest replacement

For your reference, I would like to write down the points to note when replacing this crest with an actual car.

This genuine crest does not have screw grooves on the protruding part for mounting at first.

First, open the front trunk and remove this black cover just below the crest.

It looks like this when you remove it.

There is a screw hole inside, so use a hexagonal screw to remove the originally attached gold crest.

This time, I had the crest exchanged with the cooperation of the advisor and the mechanic at the Porsche Center Takanawa / Koishikawa (I only took pictures (laughs)).

It seems like a crest firmly attached to the car, maybe because it was just built and installed?

Work while checking by illuminating the screw holes.

If you look at the original gold crest that has been removed, you can see that there is a screw groove that was created by screwing the protruding part on the back side.

Once the original crest has been removed, one thing to keep in mind is that when you replace the crest, you should always replace the rubber pad under the crest and the nut that holds the crest with a new one.

It may not be necessary to replace the rubber pads when the car is brand new, but if the car has been in use for some time, it is possible that the rubber pads have been pushed down for a long time, so it is better to replace them. is.

The nut should always be replaced.

This rubber pad and nut are about 2,000 yen, so even if you replace it yourself, I think it would be better to order this part in advance from the Porsche Center.

While applying force to the new crest that does not have a screw hole, I will attach it while making a screw hole.

I think that this work is difficult for one person, so it is better to do it with at least two people.

Here is the installed silver crest.

How cool.

Was there a crest that matched GT silver and black decals so well?

The gold crest is also the most beautiful, but the silver crest on the black decal on the GT silver body was really too beautiful.

Anyway, no matter how I looked at it, I just stared at it with a burst of self-satisfaction (laughs).

First of all, the change to Silver Crest, which is the first customization after delivery, has been completed.

Carrera T stone guard to black

The next construction is a black stone guard.

Regarding this black stone guard, when I saw the car of the person who attached the black stone guard to the white 911 on SNS, I thought, "This looks tight and looks too nice," but after that moreoverThe same GT Silver Carrera T that I met at the Porsche FestivalI was influenced by the fact that , was replaced with a black stone guard, and that figure was super cool.

He told me that he had built the black stone guard himself, so I later asked him, "Was this the one you purchased?"

He said yes and even said that "I bought two sets in case I failed to put them on, but one shot worked fine, so I have one left over, Why don't you take it"

OMG

Even though I was told that the second set would not be used anymore, I was grateful.

It is an order product from Suncoast.

I went to Tatsumi 2nd PA to hand over this stone guard ^ ^

I am very grateful for this relationship. Thank you ^^! !

So, it is a story that you should do it yourself for installing this stone guard, but here I am spoiled and I have a business partner who has been with me since purchasing my black Carrera at Porsche Center Takanawa Koishikawa. I asked him to do it for me. Ha ha, thanks!

First of all, The area must be cleaned.

While using soapy water, put the stone guard.

The stone guard that can be purchased from Suncoast is a type that can be pasted over the already attached clear stone guard, so it can be installed without removing the clear.

On a very hot day when the temperature was over 30 degrees, the sales person was already drenched in sweat working in a room without air conditioning.

Thank you (tears).

The original clear stone guard looks like this ↓

I removed the "CarreraT" decal, which is normally attached to the side of the car, as a less option, so the side looks a little flat.

By attaching a black stone guard here, I felt that the whole was tightened when viewed from the side.

This is before attached ↓

And after adding

It may be a subtle difference, but the impression you get when you look at it is quite different.

Thank you to the sales person who put it on really beautifully.

The sales person in charge of PC Koishikawa, who has been with me since the time of the black Carrera, had the title of Porsche's Gold Meister Mechanic before becoming a sales person.

And if you think, "Isn't this kind of stone guard a mechanic to install?", In fact, the Porsche mechanic is one of his jobs to install such a stone guard.

It was the construction of the business of the gold meister mechanic.

A really beautiful finish. Thanks.

It was a day when I was grateful that he was my sales person.

This time, Koishikawa's advisors and mechanics were involved in the replacement of the silver crest, and the black stone guard was installed by the sales person in charge of the used car...

In addition, the wheel coating before delivery was done by Takanawa's sales representative in charge of new cars, and this Carrera T is already full of memories that people I love have worked hard. It became a deeply emotional thing ^ ^

It's a gradual change, but I'm surprised by the difference in the impression when I see the whole picture when I make those small changes.

It's a small detail, but I think it makes a big difference.

I am very satisfied with the exchange to silver crest and exchange to black stone guard.

Next, I would like to move on to the construction of the headlights ^ ^
