Porsche Experience Center Tokyo Experience (PEC Tokyo): Facility

Posted: September 22, 2021 Updated:

Porsche facility with Japanese taste

This time the other dayPorsche Experience Center Tokyo that I went to play at the pre-openingAbout the facility of (hereinafter, PEC Tokyo).

Here is the previous article:Porsche Experience Center Tokyo Experience (PEC Tokyo): Driving Program

PEC Tokyo, the 9th Porsche Experience Center in the world, is of course a Porsche brand experience facility headquartered in Germany.

However, even at such a German company Porsche, at this PEC Tokyo that was made in Japan, "Japanese taste" is included in the facility, symbolizing that PEC Tokyo is a Porsche facility in Japan. ..

For example, the lines of Naname on the outer wall of this PEC Tokyo are images from the Edo Kiriko Yaraimon, and the inside of the facility was also designed with an Edo Kiriko-like image such as this Yaraimon. However, there were many.

Is PEC Tokyo PEC Tokyo or PEC Tokyo?

Oh yeah, one more name before I forget.

This Porsche Experience Center Tokyo is sometimes called "PEC Tokyo" for short.

I used to call this "Peck" in my house, but it seems that it's actually "PEC" ~ ^^ Did you guys call it that way? As expected.

While saying that, I think that Porsche people must also call it Peck internally ... (I'm sorry to doubt it without permission (laugh)), but it seems that it is PEC Tokyo, so in the future I also want to go outside with PEC.

Maybe it's called Peck (laughs).

Then, before entering the building, I would like to take a look around the facilities of PEC Tokyo.

Parking lot of PEC Tokyo

This is the guest parking lot in front of the building. Of course, the parking fee is free.

There are quite a few cars that can be stopped, so I don't think it's possible to stop unless there is a great deal of trouble.

There was a parking lot a little further away from the front of the building (probably for staff).

By the way, if the guests who came during the driving program 1 frame of the day + α, the parking lot is filled up like this ↓

There is also a charging facility for electric vehicles in the PEC Tokyo parking lot

The parking lot is also equipped with a charger.

There is one CHAdeMO quick charger in the parking lot in front of the building ...

Eight normal chargers.

Even if you go to PEC Tokyo by electric car, it may be convenient because you can charge the car in the parking lot while playing at PEC Tokyo. If you participate in a driving program and spend time eating, you will have to stay for a few hours lightly.

Now, let's go to the back of the facility.

* At first, when I arrived at the building, I was supposed to put it in normally, so I took a walk around, but by the time I got home, the cone was placed and I could not put it in the back, so there is no particular notation. But maybe you shouldn't normally go in? ??

By the way, there was a gas station behind the facility. amazing. It will be the place where the cars used here will be refueled with gasoline.

Not available to the general public, just in case.

Also for the CHAdeMO quick charger in the truck (currently there are two, and another one will be installed in total)ABB power cabinetWas also installed here.

By the way, like Porsche's CHAdeMOs all over the country, CHAdeMO here at PEC Tokyo is scheduled to change from the current 90kW to 150kW in the near future.

PEC Tokyo 1st floor

Next, I would like to enter the PEC Tokyo building.

After entering the entrance and passing the reception, the maintenance area is on the far right.

It is said that this is a place where "maintenance for running" such as daily maintenance of vehicles used at PEC Tokyo, tire replacement, alignment adjustment, etc. is performed.

In the unlikely event that further repairs are needed, they will not be repaired here.

There is also a car wash area inside and outside this maintenance area where you can wash 4 cars each. In fact, the car was washed from the morning.

I put up with the fact that I was about to bring my car involuntarily asking "Can I wash it too?"

If you think about it, the vehicles used in PEC Tokyo will come back in a drift circle where water is constantly being discharged every time you run one frame of the program, so at least you can just flush it. It seems that you need to wash the car every time.

There is also a key box in this maintenance area that collectively manages the keys of the vehicles used at PEC Tokyo.

This key box seems to be easy to open at first glance, but in fact it is protected by very strong security, so it will not open so easily ↓

If anyone is planning something wrong, it seems better not to plan to steal ^^

Speaking of security, the entrance to the truck from this building is also properly controlled by the key, so visitors (participants) cannot go out of the truck side without permission. This is for safety management.

It is possible to get out of the truck side from the cafe (only inside because there is a fence).

Now, let's take a look at the part on the far left after passing the reception at the entrance.

There is an official Porsche goods store, and various items such as apparel and key chains are lined up.

There are also products for core fans.

Furthermore, there is a cafe in the back, but I would like to describe the cafe separately.

Do you turn in front of the cafe and go into the back? And there is a room that says Porsche Exclusive Manufacture.

It seems that this room will be used for various purposes in the future, so I would like to look forward to it ^ ^

PEC Tokyo 2nd floor

The PEC Tokyo building is a double-decker building, so I'll go up to the second floor.

When you go up the elevator (or stairs), you will find a place of "Japanese taste reminiscent of a Japanese garden" on the wall with an Edo Kiriko pattern in front of you.

The word "DREAM" is on the opposite wall.

If you go through this Japanese-style wall, you will reach the open space on the second floor.

Sofas and other items are installed here so that visitors can relax freely.

This time, Porsche Magazine's Christophorus and others were placed and could be browsed freely, but it seems that more books related to Porsche will be installed in the future.

Furniture from Japanese manufacturers is used at PEC Tokyo

What I was interested in here was the furniture placed in this PEC Tokyo. I thought, "I think this is made in Germany," but it wasn't.

In fact, there is a great deal of attention to furniture, and the furniture installed at PEC Tokyo belongs to Japanese manufacturers.

Mainly on Karimoku, it was lined up with furniture such as Time & Style and Maruni Woodworker. That's right ~!

I think that kind of commitment is very nice.

Surprise encounters at PEC Tokyo

Oh yeah, on this day, when I was going to the meeting place on the 1st floor to participate in the driving program, there was a man who was glancing at the inside through the wall from the outside of the PEC entrance. "From the outside", I'm peeping!

I'm sneaking a peek inside, with only my face out of the wall. Without going inside.

suspicious.

And when I wave my hand to that person, he looks back, but it still doesn't come in. However, I was worried about it, and when I suddenly saw it, a man who was hiding from the wall and came to me with a piece.

Well, it's too suspicious ...

I'm such a suspicious person, but I think he was too suspicious, and after that I encountered a place where he was taken to the second floor of PEC. The man in the center of the photo is that person ↓

A face I've seen before. Maybe you're a world-famous suspicious person ...?

In this way, at PEC Tokyo, for some reason, it seems that you may suddenly meet Mr. Ara from the world who is looking into the inside from the outside by gently pulling out his face from the wall. Oh, I'm not always looking ^^

I'm surprised. The way it appeared was really a suspicious person (laughs).

It seems that Mr. Ara on that day just dropped in (not witnessing this pre-opening event as a job), and suddenly at PEC Tokyo like this, he said "What?" There may be an encounter with someone ...

Ara-san, I'm sorry to treat you as a suspicious person ... No, I was still quite a suspicious person ~ (laughs)!

Furthermore, this time, Porsche Japan (right photo), who had been watching the motor sports department at Porsche before, also told us various stories about PEC Tokyo, and I had a very good time again. rice field. Thank you ^^

By the way, the place where I took the picture is in front of the room marked RACE.

A simulator is installed in this room, and it seems that the United States is the latest version of the same PEC simulator in LA.

Simulator experience price

To experience this simulator, it is a complete reservation system and there is a charge.

The price is (as of September 2021):

  • 30 minutes / person 4,500 yen
  • 30 minutes / person (with VR) 5,500 yen * Currently suspended due to corona
  • 60 minutes / person 8,000 yen

For more informationOfficial sitePlease check at.

Since it is reserved in units of 30 minutes, I think that it is possible to play by making good use of the gap time when staying at PEC, and I think that it is an irresistible facility for those who like it ^ ^

Furthermore, in the back of the second floor, there was a meeting room named after Porsche.

The names of the meeting rooms are also related to Porsche such as 918 and 959.

Surprisingly, it is strange that "911" is not used anywhere. Why? I'm sure there is something particular about it here too ^^

It seems that there are other rooms with a size that seems to be a training center, so it seems that various uses can be considered as a facility for B to B in the future.

Last but not least about the facility, the guide to the restroom is what I thought was "cute!" At this PEC Tokyo.

Both men and women wear helmets, and people in wheelchairs seem to be as fast as Paralympians ^^!

It seems that this design is unique to PEC Tokyo, but it was designed by a German designer. Fashionable ~. pretty.

I briefly visited the facilities of PEC Tokyo.

Next, I would like to introduce the cafes and restaurants in PEC Tokyo.
