Icons of Porsche Sunstede Silverstone Edition
This year, 2026, marks the 75th anniversary of Porsche in the UK, and to commemorate this, an event was held in the UK on the weekend of June 20th-21st, 2026.
Incidentally, this 75th anniversary also coincides with the 75th anniversary of Porsche's motorsport activities. The 65th anniversary of the British Porsche Club was also celebrated at the same time.

This event took place at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, England, and was reportedly the largest single-brand event in the circuit's history.
This shows just how grand the event was.

So, what was this event that was held? It was called the "Icons of Porsche Sunstede Silverstone Edition," and it was planned by Porsche Cars Great Britain (GB) with support from the official British Owners Club.
The two-day event reportedly attracted over 10,000 Porsche owners and enthusiasts from across the UK, Europe, and parts of North America.

Sunstede is apparently an Old English word meaning "summer solstice," which reflects the fact that this event was held on the day with the longest daylight hours of the year.
So, if this were held in Japan, it would be something like "Icons of Porsche Summer Solstice FSW Edition"? (There's really no need to translate it into Japanese, is there? (lol))
Apparently, several of Porsche's famous racing cars were on display on the Silverstone Circuit track, including the original 917, the Le Mans-winning 911 GT1-98, and the hybrid 919.

In addition, a new 911 GT3 Cup racing car has also been unveiled, ahead of its debut in the 2027 Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

The event extended beyond the circuit track to every corner of the venue, including displays of past Porsche models.

Among them is one of the first three 356s delivered to Britain, which was first publicly displayed at the Earls Court Motor Show in London in 1951.

The film also features a variety of Porsches, from the early 911s to the water-cooled 924, 944, and 928, as well as the 911 GT3 S/C and the cutting-edge Cayenne Turbo Electric.

Other exhibits included a recreation of the Pink Pig's racing colors, a Porsche tractor, and a famous sculpture by artist Gerry Judah.

Another thing that surprised me was that the event venue had the 21-meter-tall structure that was first unveiled at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Apparently, it's now on permanent display outside the Porsche Experience Center in Silverstone.
This monument features six 911s attached to it: a G-Series Targa, a 964 and 993 Carrera, a 996 Turbo, a 997 GT3 RS, and a 991 GT3 Cup racing car.

The vehicles are painted in Guards Red, Carrara White, and Bali Blue, respectively, to evoke the image of the Union Flag, the British national flag.
To commemorate its 75th anniversary, Porsche Cars GB has partnered with the luxury car magazine "The Road Rat" to create a special edition focusing on Porsche's history in the UK and its 75 years of motorsport activities.
The limited edition 228-page magazine was apparently unveiled for the first time at this event, and I'd really like to see it!
This book (or magazine?) apparently even includes official Porsche part numbers, so I guess it's possible to order them.

Special limited edition car exhibition
Another highlight of this event was reportedly the unveiling of two special cars.
The first one is the limited edition of 51 units that was announced recently.911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition..

And the other one was also announced recently."Taycan Turbo S Soho House One"..

Hmm?
And, casually next to me wasPorsche 911 GT3 “Tree of Life”Are there any others?
Especially since the official announcement didn't mention the presence of the Tree of Life, what an incredibly extravagant exhibit!

It was quite a glamorous weekend at Silverstone Circuit.
Congratulations to Porsche on their 75th anniversary in the UK!
