The GT3 Bergsport is likely to be a limited edition of 100 units, featuring a ducktail spoiler.
Rumors started circulating at the beginning of last monthGT3 Bergsport might be released. This has now become an official announcement.
This is because several Porsche sites in Europe, including Porsche Germany, have officially announced that the GT3 Bergsport will be released on September 1, 2026, as an "homage to driving in the Alps."

Although details have not yet been announced, Porsche has written that they "dream of a timeless machine that has its roots in the Alps and continues to fascinate us across borders."
It seems the release will be limited to France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland.
In addition to the above, the only other announcement made so far is that "Porsche representatives from the Alpine countries of France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland have joined forces to develop a special vehicle called the 'GT3 Bergsport'."

In other words, this car is part of a series of limited-edition GT3s released in various countries recently, and this particular one appears to be a joint production between France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland.
It's just a rumor, but it might be a limited edition of 100 units. If there are 100 units, that would mean 25 units for each country if they were divided equally.

Furthermore, the fact that Germany isn't included here this time gives the impression that it was deliberately left out.
The reason for this is, as was announced the other day,911 GT3 100 Jahre NürburgringPerhaps it's because it's the German version of the limited edition GT3.

Incidentally, the reason rumors about this GT3 Bergsport surfaced last month was probably because a certain Austrian website accidentally published information about the car.
Although the website is now closed, it apparently mentioned "limited to 100 units," so it seems quite credible...
Here's what happened when the rumors started last month.:A ducktail Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport might be coming.
*This article mentions that the announcement might be on August 1st, but it seems there have been changes since then, and it's now scheduled for September 1st.

Additionally, spy shots of a GT3 already named GT3 Bergsport have been taken, and judging from those, if this is what appears in the final product, this GT3 will have a ducktail spoiler.
