Rumor has it that only 100 units will be produced.
Well, well, here comes another rumor. How exciting!
A new Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2 model) has reportedly been spotted undergoing test runs on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The reason that GT3 is attracting attention is the ducktail spoiler attached to the car.
This ducktail-shaped rear spoiler doesn't look like an aftermarket part; I wonder if it's an original factory part?
The fact that it also features a properly integrated third brake light suggests that this is no longer a prototype, but something that could only be realized after receiving official design approval.

So, the next limited edition Porsche release might be a 992.2-type GT3 with a ducktail spoiler? ^^?
Moreover, the test driver was Jörg Bergmeister.
What further enhances the credibility that this GT3 is not just a test vehicle whose future is still uncertain, but a model that Porsche will actually release, is that the driver who conducted this test drive was Jörg Bergmeister.
He is one of Porsche's most experienced factory test drivers, and the fact that someone of his caliber is participating in the test session means that, well, this car is considered to be extremely important to Porsche.

What's considered strange, given that this might be a new limited-edition GT3, is that there was almost no camouflage on the car during this test run.
So, I guess Porsche wants everyone to know that a ducktail GT3 is coming soon? Or maybe not?
Of course, Porsche has not made any official announcements regarding this car. Therefore, it's still completely unknown whether it will even be released.

However, overseas media outlets have already named this model as the '911 GT3 Bergsport,' which appears to be based on inferences (interpretations) from the rear badge.
The German word "Bergsport" apparently translates directly to "mountain climbing" or "mountain sports" in Japanese. "Berg" means mountain, and "Sport" means sport.
In other words, if Porsche were to use this name, it would likely be an homage to hill climb (Bergrennen in German), a motorsport that involves racing up steep slopes and curves in mountainous areas, or it would convey the nuance of a GT3 designed for nimble driving on winding mountain roads.
While it's still just a rumor, it's said that this ducktail GT3 will be limited to 100 units and will be unveiled on August 1, 2026.
I wonder what will happen ^^
