Now let's take a closer look at the newly announced Porsche 911 Spirit 70.
What is the new Porsche 911 Spirit 70?
- The third model created as part of Porsche's Heritage Design strategy
- The technical basis is the current 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, which is an efficient performance hybrid
- The newly developed 3.6-liter flat-engine is combined with a high-voltage system, a T-hybrid system, and a new PDK electric motor to achieve a system output of 398 kW (541 horsepower) and a system torque of 610 Nm.

- Michael Mauer, Head of Porsche Style at Porsche AG, said:
- From a design perspective, Heritage Design models occupy a special place in Porsche's product strategy.
- Limited edition sports cars embody the special appeal of the Porsche brand
- Every Porsche vehicle design is deeply linked to its history, and these vehicles take that history a step further, showing how historical design elements can be reinterpreted in cutting-edge sports cars.
- Alexander Fabig, Head of Individualization & Classics, said:
- Limited edition collector's items have particular appeal to customers around the world, and the first two models in the Heritage Design strategy have generated a great response by reviving lifestyles from past decades.
- Porsche is delighted with this success and is now proud to present its third and highly exclusive model.

- The Heritage Design model emphasizes the "lifestyle" aspect of Porsche's product strategy, which represents a particularly emotional concept.
- The first model in the series is the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, which follows the style of the 1950s and early 1960s and was announced in 2020.
- The second is the 911 Sport Classic, a limited edition of 1,250 units that revives the style of the 1960s and early 1970s, which will be announced in 2022.

- The 911 Spirit 70 is a tribute to Porsche's strengthened corporate strategy.
- Porsche is looking to further expand its customization options and already offers over 1,000 options, including the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
- The average number of cars sold with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has doubled in the past five years
- The company plans to significantly expand its production capacity at Exclusive Manufacture in order to make the dreams of even more customers come true.

- Porsche Design also produces a high-quality chronograph exclusively for customers who purchase its latest collector's item
- Attention to detail has been paid to the appearance reminiscent of the 911 Spirit 70
- For example, the glossy black Pasha pattern on the dial was inspired by the seat centre panels of this motorsport model.
- The Porsche Lifestyle Collection, which matches the 911 Spirit 70, rediscovers the style and authenticity of the 1970s
- The range of collectibles includes daywear, sportswear, lifestyle accessories and model car collections.
Although it's not a lifestyle item, there are also child seats with matching patterns, which are cute.

Exterior: Special colour concept and historic style badging
- Porsche designers and paint experts have specially developed a new paint colour for the 911 Spirit 70 called "Olive Neo", a rich, deep green with a modern hue.
- Bronzite creates an exciting contrast with this colour, while the lower rear section, the front section and the Sport Classic wheels in "Fuchs" design are painted in this grey-gold colour.
- The wheels are centre lock, with a wheel size of 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.
- The soft top and windscreen frame are black, emphasizing the unique visual presence of the 911 Spirit 70.

- Bonnet features three decorative stripes in gloss black silk
- This detail is reminiscent of the visibility-enhancing stickers common in the 1970s.
- At the time, sports car drivers would put vertical stripes on their cars to make them easier to see in the rearview mirror while driving on the highway or on a race track.
- The stripes continue in the same color on the soft top.
- On the side is the word "Porsche" and a round start number ("lollipop") in gloss black silk finish.
- Individual start numbers pay tribute to Porsche's motorsport tradition
- Decorations can also be omitted

- An example of the contrast between tradition and innovation can be seen in the center of the front bonnet.
- The 911 Spirit 70 features a Porsche crest that is almost identical to the historic crest from 1963.
- Gold-colored "Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur" badge on front fender
- Porsche Heritage badge on the trunk lid grille
- The design is reminiscent of the Porsche 356 badge awarded to drivers who reached 100,000 km in the 1950s.
- Other unusual details include the gold-coloured 'Porsche' lettering and model logo at the rear.
- The galvanized gold surface gives the letters a special shine.

Interior: Pasha pattern and special dedicated meter panel
- The highlight of the interior is the iconic Pasha pattern in black/olive neo fabric.
- The graphic design is reminiscent of a fluttering checkered flag.
- The clever arrangement of rectangles of different sizes gives the pattern a certain movement.
- Instead of the traditional jacquard velour, the 911 Spirit 70 is fitted with a flocked textile.
- This gives the fabric a sportier look and improves the feel against the skin, making it more comfortable, especially on longer journeys.

- The 18-way sports seats plus, door center panels, and inside of the glove box also feature the Pasha pattern.
- The decorative inlays in the seat backrests and the dashboard trim are also available as an option in Pasha.
- Standard equipment also includes a reversible trunk mat with a Pasha pattern.
- Elegant Basalt Black Club leather trim with Olive Neo decorative stitching and the Basalt Black Club leather interior package are also standard.

- The instrument cluster combines historic design with cutting-edge technology.
- The high-resolution 12.65-inch display features a white needle and analog scale.
- The green numerals are reminiscent of the legendary Porsche 356, and the model logo is elegantly integrated into the fully digital rev counter.
- The special edition sports chrono stopwatch also features white hands and green indexes.

Time travel to the 70s
- Porsche also offers a new app for Apple Vision Pro
- This allows users to immerse themselves in the 70s and design their dream car.
- Step-by-step customisation of a Porsche 911 Spirit 70 and gain valuable insight into the iconic design of the era
- The app will be available for free on the App Store for Apple Vision Pro in spring 2025 to coincide with the launch of the Porsche 911 Spirit 70.

Well, if you use this olive neo Pasha pattern on everything, it will have a cool 70s feel to it.

Overseas media has described the 9/11 Spirit 70 as representing the disco generation, and its visual style is said to strongly reflect the atmosphere of the era when the Bee Gees, The Who, and James Brown were active.

In some places
"You wouldn't tell anyone that you wanted to put a little disco ball on your rearview mirror, would you...?"
Some people are saying things like that, and everyone is already excited about the fact that the third Heritage Design Strategy car is based on the disco generation concept.
I'm looking forward to the day when I can see a real car with the front stripes saying "911"!
