This year I participated in Porsche's rally event "The Rally -Amazing Moment-" which was held for the first time in three years ^ ^

This event is an event sponsored by a Porsche dealer called the EBI Group, and only 911 owners who have purchased Porsche from the EBI Group can participate.

Event to enjoy lifestyle with Porsche

Since it is an all-handmade event by the staff of the EBI Group, who usually have a good understanding of Porsche, it is a perfect Porsche 911 event for Porsche 911 lovers.

Rather than competing for speed, I think that this is an event to emphasizes "enjoying the lifestyle with Porsche".

There is no reason why it is not fun to join this rally event with your Porsche 911. You can definitely fully enjoy it.

Now it seems that there are some people who buy 911s from EBI group just because they want to participate in this rally event (but it is too popular nowthat it will be a lottery whether you can participate or not).

Unfortunately, due to the spread of the coronavirus, the event was postponed last year and will be held again in 2022.

Staying the night before is essential this time: Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Yatsugatake

Prior to the first day of the rally on September 10, 2022 (Saturday), the night before September 9 (Friday) was also mandatory for this rally event.

In addition, rally participants must participate in a briefing session by the day of the rally, and the briefing session will be held in advance at a venue in Tokyo and at the hotel where they are staying the night before. was

I attended an information session in Tokyo prior to participating in the past two rallies, but this time I attended an information session at a hotel the night before.

The hotel we stayed the night before was Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Yatsugatake.

On September 9th (Friday), the day before the rally, I left Tokyo for this hotel and drove the 911 in a good mood.

The vehicle participating in this rally is the Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (992.1).

As the destination approaches, you will encounter Porsche 911s on the highway.

Looking at each one like that, I thought, "Oh, that must be an entrant."

Since we arrived at the hotel a little before the reception started, we could not park the car in the designated place (there was a parking lot dedicated to the rally and we could not enter it), so I killed time at the roadside station.

When I was looking for wine to drink at the roadside station at night (what are you going to do (laughs)?), I found a bottle of wine. This is the first time I've seen a bottle of wine! !

Moreover, it seems that it was 1,600 yen for a bottle? ? I bought it on impulse for the time being. Even though it was a rally event, it was an outrageous act of carrying a 1.8 liter bottle (laughs).

While doing so, it was time to start accepting, so I moved from the roadside station to the venue (parking lot) where I parked my car.

The weather at this time was basically a heavy rain situation with a downpour that surprised me.

After I parked my car in this parking lot for the first time, I had to submit the necessary check sheet documents to participate, and then move my luggage from this place to the hotel where I stayed. It is quite difficult to deal with these.

Especially for the staff, I think it was really hard because it was raining at this reception time, and there were more things to worry about.

The entrants, who were participating for the first time this time, may have thought, "It's a bad start to start with such a heavy rain." I was like, "Oh, is it raining?"

No no no.

That's not true.

Yes, this is the way the chairman of the rally management committee does it! !

I knew it.

As those who participated in the previous rally know,It rained heavily the day before the rally last time.. But on the day of the rally, it was a beautiful sunny day.

The chairman of the rally management committee is a fine man. And I myself am a sunny woman (I think).

From the very beginning, when the day started with a torrential downpour, I thought it was a matter of course, "If you're chairman of the steering committee, you'll make it all rain the day before. That's amazing!" (smile).

In fact, on September 10th and 11th, when the rally took place, there were times when it rained a little at first, but most of the time it was sunny and hot, so I was able to enjoy it.

Let's go to the briefing session.

This time, it was only a few minutes from the parking lot where we parked the car to the hotel, but the staff carried our luggage from the parking lot to the hotel.

At that time, this tag was attached to each luggage. I didn't realize that they even prepared tags with numbers for each of these packages. Nice.

Being able to meet all of my friends here, as well as the people I've worked with in past rallies, gives me a sense of excitement. No, I've already been excited since I left home ^^

At the briefing session, various precautions and explanations on how to read the "top chart" that can be used as a map when driving a rally were explained.

Along the way, he explained to me places where I might have taken the wrong road and places that seemed difficult to understand, so it was very helpful when I actually ran.

In particular, this part that looks yellow is the oncoming lane, but when you go to the site, it looks like a two-lane road, so be careful as you may end up driving in the oncoming lane.

If I hadn't really heard this, I might have been running on the right side normally (it was a route to turn right after that).

I think it was precisely because the staff actually ran and checked the rally route many times that it was a polite explanation.

Accidents can be prevented by giving such a small, but important explanation in advance.

Various goods were also distributed at this place.

This name tag is important. Each entrant's number, name, and picture of participating vehicles are included. During the rally, you will be participating with this tag attached all the time.

Also included in the Porsche RS2.7 collection canvas bag is a rally logo pouch.

Some of them are alcohol disinfectants with the same rally logo, or something that purifies the air? (I don't really understand...) There were some goods to prevent corona infection.

Exchange with Entrants

After finishing the briefing and checking into the room, it was dinner time. Dinner the night before is to be done on your own.

We planned to eat with other entrants in advance and had reserved a restaurant in Hoshino Resort, so we went there.

Of course, it starts with alcohol (laughs).

As a surprising trick (?) here, if you buy wine at the wine shop in Hoshino Resort, which is the same as the restaurant, you can bring that wine into the store.

There is no corkage fee, and the wines sold at the wine shop start at a few thousand yen. rice field.

It was fun~^^

911 lounge by the pool

We all drank so much, and when we were already in a good mood, we went to the "911 Lounge" by the pool, which was the eve of the rally event, prepared by everyone in the rally management office after the meal.

Here, some of the rally management staff and entrants were provided with drinks and appetizers as a place to deepen exchanges.

The entrance is in the basement and looks like some kind of suspicious backdoor deal (laughs).

The place where the 911 lounge is installed is the poolside, so I thought that people who really wanted to enter could also enter the pool, but entering the pool was prohibited.

If it was OK to come in, it would have been like a drunken party, so I think it was a good thing that it was banned (laughs).

I've already drunk at the restaurant and it's finished, so I'm going to have another drink (this time for free) here, so you and I have already drunk it.

in this place, there was also aPhilipp von Witzendorff, appointed CEO of Porsche Japan from July 2022.

I was moderately drunk, and so of course I went to say hello to Mr. Philip.

… in the name of greeting, it is actually a request to “Please give me an allocation for my Porsche911". What kind of drunk I was (laughs).

But anyways, it was a great honor to have the opportunity to talk with the new CEO of Porsche Japan.

Stop drinking and go to bed early so you don't get drunk driving.

The night before the start of the rally was already a fun time, and above all, I was really excited to meet the entrants again, meet new people, and meet my favorite EBI staff again. I realized that Rally 2021 (2022) has finally started.
