2023 Steady circular turn start

Posted: Posted:

Porsche Club Utsunomiya Event @ Tsukuba Circuit Gymkhana Field

Since 2023, I have been participating in the first regular circle practice.

While watching the sunrise, head to the gymkhana stadium of Tsukuba Circuit.

This time, I participated in the event of Porsche Club Utsunomiya, who is always indebted to me, as a visitor.

Thank you so much for everything ^^

I am not a member of the Porsche Club Utsunomiya, nor do I live in the Utsunomiya area, but I am lucky enough to participate as a visitor whenever there is a vacancy.

The Utsunomiya branch is in this steady circlerunning on ice, It seems that it is one of the valuable clubs that provide many driving events for actually understanding the performance of Porsche (car) and being able to run, such as circuit events, so I am interested by all meansPlease contact Porsche Club Utsunomiya^^

Of course, when I do field training, etc., I wear my beloved black Carrera.

This day is alreadylast field trainingIt is in a very dirty state with considerable dirt on it (things that can't be removed with ion deposit).

I'm sorry, Mr. Black Carrera.

In addition, my husband also participated in the Fairlady Z for the first time in a long time on this day.

It's been a long time since I've practiced a steady circle, but I did my first ice training a little while ago, so my body still remembers "the feeling of sliding the car and controlling it"... it should be!

Therefore, I'm sure that today I'll be able to drift better than ever...!

I was about to start with a steady circle with high expectations, but my start this day was a little different than usual.

Water supply experience for water truck

Yes, I was worried about the sprinkler truck in front of me. Oh, have you always wondered

No, no, I'm even more worried about this day than usual.

I couldn't help myself (perverted?) and said, "If I'm going to fill up with water, can I go with you?"

Since they kindly agreed, I immediately put them on the sprinkler truck and went to fetch water (?).

It was also my first experience to leave the narrow road from the back of the gymkhana field. Hehe~ There was a road like this in a place like this.

When you arrive at the water station, open the top of the water truck tank.

And since it is said that water will come out of this hose, after putting the hose in the place where you opened earlier, water will come out by twisting the lever where the red circle is.

In order to make it easy to see how the water is coming out, the person who took me was lifting the hose upwards. kind ^^ ↓

By the way, the water truck at this Tsukuba Circuit gymkhana field was getting old and started to break down in various ways. Good luck to you, yellow whale...

After experiencing the water supply to the water truck and getting excited, we finally got to practice steady circle turning.

This time, when I watched my husband drift, he was able to drift more than ever because he was also after the ice experience. Don't do it~

Another PVC drift experience

further,PVC drift that I experienced beforeThis time my husband also experienced it.

Can you see that the rear wheel is wrapped in a PVC pipe? As a result, you can experience the same experience as running on ice with only the rear wheel in a slippery state.

At first it was my husband who went out with a jerk, but after watching it, it was after the ice experience, and it seemed that he was enjoying the drift experience even in this PVC.

It's really fun and happy to be able to experience various things from the ice to the ice on the ground (PVC). thank you.

I think that it is really a miracle to have the opportunity to have such various experiences, and I am grateful for the wonderful relationship that Porsche is bringing ^ ^

By the way, when my husband is doing a stationary circle like this, or when another person is running a stationary circle, I wait in the car when my turn approaches, but on this day I was very sleepy, so I waited for 3 minutes. I tried to sleep in between and cleaned the inside of the car.

change the way you drift

Well then, how was my steady circle on this day?

Certainly, "You should be able to drift even if it's not a brute force technique"Confidence gained from the ice experienceSince I was able to approach it with this feeling, the feeling inside me was quite different from before.

That's why I think I've become able to drift about half a lap from the start of drifting in the same way as before (=drift from accelerator off).

However, after all, it often ends in about half a lap, and did you go to the last lap this time? did not go? The situation about how it was about 2 times.

It's far from a situation like ``Hey, I can drift as many laps as I want on the 911!

After all, the drift was still far from satisfying, so I consulted with the chairman of the Porsche Club Utsunomiya on this day as well.

But even then I still stubbornly said, "Porsche'sDriving lesson (PTX)Then, when you turn off the accelerator, pull out the rear and let it slide." I wanted to be able to do that, so I wanted to focus on drift starting when I turned off the accelerator.

However, on this day, the chairman said, ``Yeah, I understand (that feeling). It's probably not the goal to continue drifting, is it?"

yeah? ? Oh, sure.

If you think about it calmly, you're right.

At PTX, you won't be told, "Well, if you can do it, try drifting around."

Well, the purpose of practicing in a steady circle at PTX was to "get the feeling of sliding the Porsche by pulling out the rear from the accelerator off"! Was that the main purpose? I agree at this time.

No, um, if I was told to notice it sooner, it would be until then, but uh, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what it is.

In the case of drifting from the accelerator off, the control after that is a little more difficult than other methods, so if you are a person of my level, if you want to continue drifting, it might be better to start drifting with another trigger.

* Of course, if you are good at drifting, you can continue to drift as much as you want even if you are drifting off the accelerator.

Furthermore, "Rika is already able to slide from the accelerator off, which is said in PTX. So, isn't that already good?"

So that's it.

Certainly, it may be possible to drift start the 911 from the accelerator off, partly because I have been persistent.

However, the problem is at the stage where it is difficult to continue for more than half a lap.

So I was told, "Let's do it in a different way," and until now, I was strangely obsessed with "PTX!" I want to try it because it's different." Finally (laughs).

That's why I tried "slow acceleration turning" on this day.

If I explain it so that I can understand it myself (laugh), in other words, by accelerating slowly while keeping the steering constant, and turning the steering wheel in reverse just before the front tires become rattled. How to slide 911.

This seemed to be the easiest to continue drifting at a constant speed after that, so I tried this first.

However, this slow acceleration turn was useless.

I feel sorry for praising my car, but the black Carrera is too good, and the front won't rattle unless it accelerates tremendously in slow acceleration turns (laughs).

What a great car.

The chairman also drove a black Carrera, but even if someone who is actually good at driving it, I'm happy that he praised me, saying, "Ah, this car is really good!" However, that's why I came to the conclusion that it might not be suitable for slow acceleration turns.

* I'm persistent, but I'm just talking about my level, and if you're good at it, you can of course do it.

Well then, what should I do... I asked, and then the chairman said,

"Yeah, then wow! Let's accelerate."

“Eh.

At this point, there is already too much gap in the conversation, so we can't understand each other (laughs).

I wow! I was told that I was going to accelerate, and I understood, "I'm sure you're going to step in." But what the chairman was actually talking about was "WOT acceleration," that is, "Wide Open Throttle acceleration."

Well, if you say it, the throttle is fully open = the accelerator is depressed all at once. )? I laughed ^^

This drift start with WOT acceleration is certainly very easy to do, and it made me question myself, ``Why have I been so particular about turning off the accelerator until now?'' as a side noteWhen I was successful in drifting one lap in a steady circle at PEC TokyoAlso this WOT acceleration method.

Unfortunately, I changed to this WOT acceleration method and tried it just before the end time, so I was only able to try it twice (that is, 6 minutes in total), so it's still good to start sliding. , I ended up not finding the stepping speed, timing, etc. to connect after that.

Still, as the start of 2023, I was able to switch to "I can do drifting from the accelerator off, and my goal for this year is to continue drifting as long as possible." I felt like I had found a way.

I don't know when I'll be able to practice again, but next time, wow! I would like to practice drifting from acceleration.

Including this policy change, it was a very fruitful day.

A day playing with a black Carrera is really fun. It's a car that you can't stop loving the more you run it.

The day started with the sunrise, and by the time I got home, it was sunset. Even if you want to take a beautiful sunset because it is before the car wash, the dirt on the window stands out. ↓

So, after the square training again, the machine car wash.

Ah, I miss the days when I used to say, "I've only washed my car by hand" (laughs).

However, when I experienced the terrible ion deposit that I could never get rid of after the open space training, I felt that I could not replace my back and belly. I got to wash my car.

Of course, it was REVOLT Utsunomiya who started machine washing. It's because of the coating that almost never gets scratched. There is also.

If I hadn't done this, I don't think I would have put it in the machine wash.

So, wow.

Actually, I was planning to go to the place where I was told to wash my car with pure water, but I accidentally entered the wrong place before the gas station, so I tried washing my car there... But it was okay.

400 yen for shampoo car wash? I chose the cheapest one, but it turned out pretty clean.

Headlights and their surroundings before car wash↓

After car wash

The AEON Deposits that have already been left behind are unavoidable, but I feel that the stains on this day have been removed quite nicely.

It may have been difficult for Aeon Deposit to remain in the first place due to the weather and other conditions on this day ^ ^ It was good.

This is the next day's black carrera.

The front of the car does not get dirty and there is no ion deposit residue, so if you wash the car, it will return to the shiny state as if it had been coated.

If you look closely at the side, it's so dirty that you think, "I wish I hadn't looked more closely..." (laughs).

I'm going to go to Utsunomiya to clean it up again after a while.

Anyway, this first steady circle practice in 2023 was a big step for me, as I was able to throw away my obsession with drifting from the accelerator off.

I would like to continue to have a lot of fun with the black Carrera.

Thank you again to everyone at Porsche Club Utsunomiya ^ ^
