Porsches from the movie

Next, let's start with the exhibition of Porsches that appeared in the movie.

The appearance of Lightning McQueen, the main character of the movie "Cars", and his girlfriend (ex-girlfriend?) Sally Carrera, which was announced in advance.

reference:Cars' Lightning McQueen and Sally Carrera to reunite at Laguna Seca for the first time in over a decade

I was able to meet two cars that I had been hoping to meet.

Lightning McQueen from Cars, Sally Carrera

McQueen has a stubby body and is thicker than I expected.

This is a mock that cannot actually be driven, so I think it is a more faithful reproduction of the character in the movie.

It's usually on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA, so this was a bit of a trip for him.

And this is Sally Carrera.

Usually, she is at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, so this time she came all the way here.

This Sally Carrera is an original made with 996 type 911,In the previous blogDid anyone notice this?

Here is it.

A blue Porsche was displayed at the Sonderbunsch booth.

This Porsche inside the Sonderbunsch was the new Sally Carrera. 2022 911 Sally Special.

The moment I saw it, I got excited and thought, "What! Could this be Sally Special?"

reference:Porsche 911 Sally that appears in the movie Cars will become 992 type to commemorate the 20th anniversary

This Sally Special was put up for auction and sold for approximately 500 million yen, so I believe it was displayed here thanks to the kindness of its owner.

reference:Porsche 911 Sally that appears in the movie Cars will become 992 type to commemorate the 20th anniversary

The body color of Sally Special is "Sally Blue Metallic", which is the same as the original Sally.

I was happy to meet the two original cars and the new Sally Special.

The reason why Sally Special was displayed in a different place is probably because if they were placed too close together, Lightning McQueen would end up staring at the new Sally and things would get complicated (no).

transformers, mirage

Continue to here.

911 Carrera RS3.8 (964) from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

reference:Transformers 911 Carrera RS3.8 and Mirage appear in Rensport Reunion 7

The emblem (crest) is also a transformer!

And next to the car is a Mirage. Is it actual size? Height: 15 feet (approximately 4.57 meters).

There were so many dads taking pictures with their small children standing in front of them ^^

Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal too. I'm a little happy. I enjoyed watching it just like the other kids.

By the way, if you look at the tire part...

It's natural since the prototype is a Porsche, but only the Mirage had a Porsche crest in the center of the wheel.

On this night, as the sun was starting to set, a DJ started playing music on the main stage (this DJ even played a violin while DJing), and everyone was relaxing in front of the main stage. It becomes.

As expected, I was exhausted after walking all day. We walked 23,000 steps that day just inside the venue.

After this, Transformers will be shown outdoors using two screens on the main stage.

A beaded sofa similar to Yogibo and blankets were newly installed in front of the main stage for the evening screening (you can use them freely).

What's more, before the movie starts, you can enjoy unlimited snacks such as hamburgers, corn dogs, pretzels, popcorn, etc. for free. What the best.

...But actually, at this time, it was drizzling on and off, and the temperature suddenly dropped and it was already too cold.

When the movie started, I enjoyed the scene where the 964 appeared and ran, then the Mirage appeared, and then I went home. disappointing.

I was really looking forward to watching this movie with other Porsche fans and wanted to watch it until the end, but I had to give up because I wouldn't be able to do anything if I caught a cold.

But it was fun even for a short time.

Events held at RR7

Next, I would like to write about some small events that were held within RR7.

The schedule was full of various races, talk shows, concerts, etc., but I think you can check those on the official website, so I'll talk about some of the things that aren't mentioned on the official website.

Cayenne off-road experience

As I wrote about in my first blog, there was a Cayenne off-road shuttle service that would take you off-road to the hill where you could see the Corkscrew.

In addition to that, there is also a Cayenne off-road experience area in the infield area.

After all, the Cayenne cars running here are already pitch black (pure white).

This is also really cool. It's so dark that you hesitate to even touch the door handle.

It is an experience of driving on rough and uneven roads, and the Cayenne used here is the latest version of the MY24. Not a hybrid.

It was a fun experience as I talked to the driver about various things. The driver said that the day before, ``We covered 21 miles (about 34 kilometers) just driving around this small area forever!''

I think it must have been quite an ordeal for the driver to drive 34 kilometers through a not-so-wide area, traveling slowly and bumpy off-road (lol).

Still, even when he gave us a ride like this, he didn't even make a displeased face and was a really nice person who talked happily and explained various things to us. it was fun!

Looking for backdrop (paint)

Another mini-event from a sponsor was this one from the paint company Backdrop.

The large paint can catches the eye.

reference:Four colors of Porsche color paint are on sale (USA)

This was exactly the kind of scene I'd seen on the news beforehand, and I was even more impressed.

It seems that the nail polish was made in the same color as the Porsche color paint that was made this time, and I was able to paint it freely here.

I don't like the time it takes to dry my nails (I touch things right away without waiting), so I didn't try it here because I could see a future in which if I applied it at an event, it would probably get messy within a few minutes.

The mini-event held by this backdrop was called "Scan The Can."

Backdrop paint cans are placed in various places at the event venue, so if you find them and scan the QR code there, you may win.

It was left quietly like this inside the venue, as if someone had left it behind↓

By the way, the winning cans are not determined by location, but when scanning the QR code at various locations, some people win and others lose.

If you win, you can just go to the booth to show it, and I thought it wouldn't be much of a prize even if you won, but surprisingly (sorry) they gave me a leather key chain like this, so I was happy.

The guy in charge of this backdrop also loves Japan, so we had a lot of fun chatting here as well. Each one was a really fun time.

Mobile 1 Scavenger Hunt

Another sponsored event held by Mobile 1 was a "Scavenger Hunt," in which participants were asked to find nine designated Porsches from within the venue and take photos.

Since I was walking around the event venue, I decided to participate in this as well. After taking all the photos, I went to Mobile 1.

I thought the only prize you could get here would be a sticker, but it turned out to be a pretty decent badge. This is something that can be attached to clothes bought at RR7. Sounds good.

Each of the souvenirs I received was better than I expected, and also served as a memento of this event.

Although it was not an event, sunscreen was also distributed at the venue (free of charge).

Older brothers and sisters were walking around the venue enthusiastically and suddenly called out to event participants, saying, ``Please use it if you like.'' *In the photo, it looks big because I took it close up, but it is a mini bottle.

The climate in Laguna Seca at the end of September/October was very cold and cold in the mornings and evenings and when it was raining, but in the afternoon when the sun was out it was so hot that I got sunburned easily. It was a sunny day, so I think this sunscreen helped many people.

Porsche and art in RR7

Next is a story related to art at this event.

Art throughout the venue.

A talk show was also held by artists who work on Porsche art works.

As someone who is very interested in Porsche art, it was very moving to be able to meet and talk with artists who until now had only been seen on screens. event.

We also received autographs from all the artists ^^

This is Dennis Simon.

No matter what I hide, he is the person who is working on the work that will become the icon of this RR7 ↓

Additionally, Akiko Stehrenberger and Lyne Lucien signed and gave us small prints of their works (on sturdy paper!). This is too moving, isn't it?

It was great to be able to receive an artwork from the person himself. And it's a Porsche.

Lyne is an artist from Haiti (the bottom two photos are her works), and the other one, Akiko, seems to have some connection to Japan based on her name, and she says, ``I don't speak Japanese well.'' When I asked her, ``Do you have a Japanese name?'', she said that she didn't speak Japanese, and that her mother was originally from Taiwan, but she gave her the name Akiko.

Lastly, this is Chris Labrooy.

Many of you may recognize this work, such as the Porsche in the pool, or this art work using an actual 911 ↓

I really like this work where the racer is playing with a real 911! I was able to tell you directly ^^

At first glance, I guess she's quiet and doesn't like to communicate with people much. But after he signed it, he pointed to the date he had written it on and said with a smile, ``This is written in the British style,'' and I thought, ``Wow, he's an artist.'' . I can't express it well (lol).

reference:"Dream Big", part of Porsche's "The Art of Dreams"

There are various other artists selling their art works, and some even draw their works on the spot.

Paint your own Porsche

Another place that was set up for art-related events was ``Find your Porsche.''

A wall of paper with various models of Porsche printed only with black and white lines.

People participating in the event can freely paint each car one by one to create their own Porsche.

I didn't have a 911 Carrera (991 or 992), so I went with a Targa, but I also painted it.

However, since the new paper was just being pasted and everyone was using pens, the only pens I was able to get were an orange one and a pink one with almost no color.

So, this is a Porsche that looks almost painted in one color and was completed in about 5 minutes, but I'm satisfied because I was able to leave my footprints as a memento ^^

RR7 Food related

Also, let's talk about the food-related aspects of this event.

There were food trucks everywhere, and alcohol was being served in abundance.

This is beer↓

Tequila too↓

There was a variety of food options, including pizza baked in a pizza oven.

It seems that meals were provided indoors or in the booths for VIPs and media, but for general participants, food was procured at the food area inside the event venue or the kitchen car area in the infield. It was in the shape of being eaten.

This also feels good.

We also had beer time on the lawn.

The screens set up in front of me were broadcasting the race that was being held at the time, as well as broadcasts from various parts of the venue.

The relay from the Porsche coloring book earlier was terrible, and the relay guy said things like, ``I guess short kids are painting this Porsche at the bottom.Oh, they can't even color it properly anymore.'' Although he said it in a loving way, what he said itself was harsh and funny (lol).

At the top of the hill where you can see the corkscrew, there was a beer garden that started serving beer as early as 9am.

It's a bit chilly since it's on a hill, but the beer here is definitely worth drinking.

This was something I was interested in because I had been told this beforehand, and the names of the beers served here were things like "Corkscrew Ale" and "RR7 IPA."

The actual alcoholic beverages served are usually from different manufacturers, but even so, with the name like this, you can't help but drink Laguna Seca Magic.

There are also pretzel shops.

And here's what's amazing about it: the beer and pretzels at this beer garden are free for each person!

It was a treat from Porsche Financial Services, so I was able to receive beer and pretzels by providing my name and other information.

These tips you can get by registering for the survey.

I exchanged this for a beer (and it was a generous pint even though it was free), and the view from the beer garden was 911 S/T, which was amazing.

Is it possible to enjoy beer in such a luxurious environment? ? ?

With the Porsche effect, you can get comfortably drunk with just one drink ^^

Furthermore, I watched the Corkscrew while eating a pretzel.

Laguna Seca was a dream-like, exciting place with everything in a luxurious Porsche environment.

The next blog will be the last. There's only one more thing left (sorry it's long).ContinuedPorsche Rennsport Reunion 7 | I went to 2023 ⑥What made me happiest about RR7 and more
