It was a while ago, but I think it was for a vehicle inspection, I left my black Carrera at the Porsche Center.
After the work was completed, I went to pick up my car, and after a pleasant chat with the person in charge, it was finally time to say, "Well, I'll be heading home now."
When you leave, the staff member sees you off all the way out of the Porsche Center, guiding you as you exit onto the road.
So, whenever I leave, after getting in my car and starting the engine, I always roll down the window first. I do it as a way of saying goodbye.
To open a window, you use the switch on the door, right? This one ↓
The switches, which have pictures of windows on the left and right, were supposed to lower smoothly when pressed down, but that didn't happen.
Agh!
On this particular day, when I went to open the window and looked for the switch that should have been there...the switch wasn't there (lol).
What the heck is this? Where did my driver's side window switch go?
Just as I was about to leave the Porsche Center, I suddenly had to get out of the car again and say, "Excuse me, but there's no window switch."
The person in charge was surprised and checked around the door, and found that the detached part of the switch had fallen into the door pocket, I think? (laughs).
After the vehicle inspection was completed, when I came to pick up my car and a staff member turned it around to near the exit of the Porsche Center so I could take it home, it seems that a part of the switch broke (?) at that exact moment.
What perfect timing.
Since they didn't have the part for this component in stock that day, I decided to go home with the broken part I had found roughly placed over the switch, and they would install it properly once the part became available.
I realized how important even such a small part is because, in fact, without this one part, the window couldn't be raised or lowered at all!
This time, we found the broken part, so we managed to put it over the window and, with some careful maneuvering, we were able to raise and lower the window, but it was quite difficult.
I visited the Porsche Center again a few days later, and they fixed the window switch perfectly.
I was surprised when I saw that the switch was gone, but it was quite an interesting experience ^^
I'm even grateful now for being able to raise and lower windows as a matter of course!
My black Carrera is a 2017 model, so it's almost 10 years old now, and naturally, various things happen over time. I'm grateful that nothing critical has happened.
I want to keep driving this car for many more decades and tens of thousands of kilometers, so please don't break down too often!
