The next Porsche 911 Dakar may be a hybrid

"An updated Porsche 911 Dakar is currently under development at Porsche's Weissach Engineering Centre and will become part of the 992.2 line-up."

He said,

Usually this kind of information just comes from a "source," but this time they're saying it came from a "senior source" (perhaps someone important? → Senior sources), so I wonder if it's credible?

By the way, a Porsche spokesperson said, "Porsche does not comment on speculation about its products." Well, that's true.

Autocar believes the next-generation 911 Dakar will be released at the end of 2025, and may be sold in limited numbers of some kind.

The new 911 Dakar will have an off-road specification like its predecessor, but it will likely be equipped with the new T-hybrid that is used in the already announced 992.2 Porsche 911 GTS.

Details are of course still unknown, but it's likely that like the current Dakar, the next model will be sold exclusively with an eight-speed PDK and all-wheel drive.

The new 911 Dakar is also likely to be compatible with the Sonderwunsch program.

And of course, it is also said that the price of the new model will be even higher than the current model, but yes, I think we can safely say that this is probably the only information that is reliable (laughs).

I thought they would release a new Dakar again as a limited edition (since the current one is already a limited edition, I thought the name of the next Dakar (off-road model) might be changed), but I never imagined it would be a T-Hybrid.
