Porsche Craft: Get Creative With Porsche

In the past, when cities in various countries were locked down in Corona, Porsche called it "Get Creative With Porsche" and came up with ideas for being creative about various cars.

Meanwhile, during the period when the state of emergency was declared in Tokyo, I actually enjoyed doing some Porsche work.

First, go to the parking lot to pick up the play equipment.

My play equipment was placed in the trunk of this Porsche 992.

When I opened the trunk, there was a cardboard box.

Ah, this is pizza, isn't it? Isn't it?

I wonder why I left the pizza in the trunk.

I took the box out of the trunk, but it was heavy! It's not pizza at all (naturally)!

I carried it out thinking it was heavy.

So open.

Yes, the contents are here, it was a Porsche brake rotor ↓ ^ ^

A while ago, I replaced the black carrera brake pads and brake rotors, but at that time I suddenly thought, "If you throw away the black carrera brake rotors that you have been using until now," I started it and asked for it.

Before I got the old brake rotor, the sales staff said, "What should I do to save that?" "It's just hard to get rusty."

He said this politely, but the voice of his heart that I actually heard was probably "What are you thinking? Are you a real idiot?" (Laughs) ).

Well, anyway! It is a black carrera part that I love so much. I somehow wanted to save it as a memorial.

That's why I went shopping here in advance ↓

The place isA PIT Shinonome.. So-called former Super AUTOBACS.

I came here to buy a car body paint spray.

As a result of various studies, the color I asked for was "BMW Arctic Silver M", which was the second one from the top of this color sample.

Since the color was decided, I asked A PIT's older brother to look for this color, but unfortunately it was out of stock on the spot.

He said that he would come in if he waited, but I didn't want to wait, so I asked him, "I want a similar color."

My brother was looking for a body color paint, but he said, "It's a similar guy," and he said, "What? Isn't it a car, BMW's Arctic Silver?" (Laughs), I said "I wish it was similar!" And told me the recommendation, and finally decided on "Honda Satin Silver M" which was a similar color while it was in stock at the store.

I also bought undercoat paint and clear paint.

Well, let's go back to the brake rotor again.

As you may already know, I wanted to remove the rust on this brake rotor for the time being and paint it so that no more rust would come out. Sprays for that.

Can you see that it is brownish and rusty around the center of the brake rotor?

Furthermore, all the parts on this side are rusty.

I'm going to paint this brake rotor from now on, but since this is an "old rotor" that I no longer need when I replaced the black carrera rotor, I will not reuse it in the car again after painting.

First of all (not shown in the photo), remove the rust on the rust part with sandpaper anyway.

After that, use a parts cleaner to remove dirt.

Rust removal and cleaning ... It's a work that makes you feel empty.

Somehow it became beautiful, so I stopped at the place where I asked, "Paint from above, is it okay for me to do this?" ← After all, it's techto (laughs).

I also want to paint the gray part in the center of the rotor beautifully.

However, I want to leave the beautiful part of the disc as it is, so first mask the disc part.

I wonder if I masked it quite nervously ^ ^

However, thanks to this, I was able to spray paint more and more without worrying about it.

First of all, from the undercoat coating.

Spray

Repeatedly ...

O. Somehow the gray background is made overall!

I will spray it lightly and lightly.

Finally in this state ↓

Yeah, isn't it nice? The base is also sprayed on the groove on the side.

Next, wait for it to dry, and then this is a satin silver metallic spray for Honda cars.

I wonder how much silver it feels by spraying this silver metallic on a gray background.

I will also spray on the side.

Huh.

I finished spraying, but hmm, I got a pretty metallic feeling. Impressed!

It may be difficult to understand if you look at the picture like this ... ↓

Do you understand when you stop by like this?

A pretty silver metallic feeling. Isn't it beautiful ~ ^^! !!

I got tired here, so I introduced an additional can.

A can is not a spray can (laughs). Oh, it's delicious to drink beer while applying Porsche's brake rotor outside.

What is this feeling of happiness?

What's more, this brake rotor isn't something that was around there, it's the brake rotor of my beloved car, the Black Carrera, that I've been riding for a long time! !! !! A lovable part of a beloved car.

After painting on one side, I went to the point where it was dried, so I started painting on the other side.

The sides were also spray-painted with a nice feeling.

Masking on the other side as well.

It was fun to mask it.

After spraying the base on the other side in the same way, apply silver metallic spray for Honda.

Well, it looks pretty good! !!

All the undercoating → silver coating is completed, so wait for it to dry before removing the masking tape.

I was impressed when a beautiful disc surface came out.

And the removal is completed.

After removing all the masking, continue with clear spray on the whole.

When I painted it in silver, all the masked discs were also clear coated (sprayed).

After drying one side, turn it over and spray clear on the other side. Of course, I also do it on the side.

Yeah, perfect.

It seems that the black carrera brake rotor will become rusty with this (hopefully).

It was a very satisfying result ^ ^

For the time being, I was able to handle the rust prevention (?), So I was very satisfied on this day.

Return it to the box and store it.

What to do with this rotor from now on is fun again ... (I haven't considered it yet ^^).

I am very happy to have the black carrera brake rotor as a souvenir. Black Carrera will keep you entertained even after removing the parts ^^

I'd like to continue working on this brake rotor someday, so I don't know when it will be, but I'd like to report on the day I worked on it.

was fun!
