Awards by British media Carwow
The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS won the Driving Pleasure award at an awards ceremony held by British media outlet Carwow.
At the same time, the new Taycan, which will be released in 2024, was also highly praised in the Excellent EV Award category.
When presenting the Driving Pleasure award to the 911 Carrera GTS, Carwow commented, "The Porsche 911 has long been the ultimate sports car and the latest version continues that trend. Introducing a hybrid engine into a car like this was bound to be controversial but Porsche has made it great in the end. Sure, it's a little heavier, but you don't feel it and it's more powerful and just as fun to drive as before."
Porsche's new Taycan was also highly praised in the Outstanding EV Award category, and Carwow commented on the Taycan's nomination, saying, "There's no denying that the Taycan is a bit pricey, but that's the price you pay for the best EV technology currently available. Available models range from fast to blindingly fast, but no matter which one you choose, you'll get a huge battery that charges incredibly quickly. The Taycan is an astonishingly good GT car, only it's an electric car."
Porsche 911 also wins as a used car
Porsche also won the used car category in the British media outlet Auto Express, and the 911 also came in highest in the sports car category.
The Auto Express Used Car Awards recognise the best cars in 19 categories.
In addition to taking into account price and owner satisfaction scores, the list draws on many years of experience to compile a list of cars that offer both "cost performance" and "satisfaction" for drivers considering purchasing a used car.
Another British media outlet, Car Buyer, also nominated the Boxster for Best Used Sports Car, further highlighting the appeal of used Porsches.
"The Boxster is one of the best-driving cars in its class and, after several years on the market, it remains one of the most affordable ways to own a modern Porsche. It's easier to drive than its rivals, offers open-air thrills and has all the prestige and quality associated with the iconic Porsche crest."
I'm very happy that Porsche is being appreciated in various media in the UK.
