911 Dakar ends with custom car by Sonderwunsch
The Porsche 911 Dakar (992.1) was announced on November 16, 2022, with a worldwide limited run of 2,500 units. The production of the 2,500th and final Dakar has finally been completed, and Porsche has announced the last one.
It was the last one produced, or rather, after the car itself was produced at the factory, it was customized by Porsche's one-off custom car production program "Sonderwunsch" and the process was completed.
This handover from the Sonderbunsch marked the end of the 911 Dakar model, and Porsche celebrated the occasion.
This car, which became the "last Dakar," was ordered by an Italian sports car collector.
Customized 3-tone paintwork
This Dakar, customized by Sonderbund, has a three-tone paint job.
The painted colors are Signal Yellow and Gentian Blue Metallic, with blue lines drawn between the large areas of these two colors, creating a three-tone paint job.
The color used in this line is named "Lampedusa blue" after the Italian Mediterranean island.
The spokes of the alloy wheels are also signal yellow, while the rim edges are Lampedusa blue.
All of these paintings were done by hand.
The LED matrix headlights also have Lampedusa-coloured accent rings, while the front, rear and side sills are black.
The interior is also unique, with more yellow against contrasting black on the dash, centre console and door panel stitching and trim strips.
The headrests of the sports seats Plus are embroidered with the words "911 Dakar" in Speed Yellow thread.
There is also a Speed Yellow leather insert on the gear selector.
When you open the door, an LED projector will project the Sonderbunsch logo onto the ground.
As for this Dakar, instead of heading to its Italian owner immediately after completing its customization at the Sonderbunsch, it is first being exhibited at the Porsche Museum in Germany.
It's pretty cool ^^!
Will there be an off-road vehicle in the next generation Porsche 911?
By the way, will there be another 992.2 Dakar? Well, the Dakar is a limited edition, so I don't think there will be one.
So if there is another off-road model of the 992.2 model, will it have a different name like "Safari → Dakar → xxx" again?
After the Porsche 911 Safari and Porsche 911 Dakar, what's next? (←I'm assuming it will be released (lol)).
Is it the name of a place (like a specific desert)? Or the name of a place where off-road racing takes place (like Baja)? Or is it just as obvious as Rally?
Ah, but the Speedster and the like are limited edition cars, but they are released for each generation, so I wonder if they will just release another limited edition model as the 992.2 Dakar.
In the end, it turned into a fantasy story, I'm sorry.
