Panamera's latest top models: New Panamera GTS and new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid released

The new Panamera GTS and new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid were announced on July 18, 2024, and pre-orders began in Japan the following day, July 19.

• A change from a twin-scroll turbocharger to a single-scroll turbocharger shortens the warm-up phase of the catalytic converter
• Exhaust gas temperatures of up to 1,000°C and the associated clean combustion, as well as an increase in the average peak pressure in the combustion chamber to 140 bar, improve driving efficiency, especially in the high dynamic range
• The 8-speed PDK has been completely redesigned
• Optimized drivetrain surfaces and high thermal load capacity enable the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid to achieve enormous drive torque.

• The new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid's V8 biturbo engine develops 441 kW (600 PS), while the electric motor, which is fully integrated into the housing and the PDK cooling circuit, develops 140 kW (190 PS).
• Compared to the previous model, system output is 75kW (102PS) higher at 575kW (782PS), and system torque is 1,000Nm, an increase of 150Nm.
• Acceleration from 0 to 100 km is 2.9 seconds (0.5 seconds faster than the previous model)
• Top speed is 325 km/h (25 km/h faster than the previous model)

• It's also more efficient, and the hybrid powertrain offers longer electric range, faster charging and more responsiveness than its predecessor.
• The high-voltage battery, with a total capacity of 25.9 kWh, stores 451 TP1T more energy than the previous generation battery.
• This increases the electric driving range to a maximum of 88km (WLTP EAER City/EU spec).
• Recuperation power increased to 88kW, for even more efficient operation in all-electric mode
• With the right power source, the 1kW on-board AC charger can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in approximately 2 hours and 39 minutes.

• The Turbo model is highlighted as the top performer in the model line with a distinctive rear bumper and a body-color front end.
• At the rear, dark bronze chrome-plated tailpipes complete the Turbo look.

• New Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sets new records even before launch
• Porsche test driver Lars Kern (36 years old) completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife (20.832 km) in just 7 minutes 24.172 seconds.

• This certified time makes the car the fastest ever recorded by a hybrid top-class saloon car with an internal combustion engine in the official rankings of the Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG, beating the previous record in its class by 3.62 seconds.
• When Lars Kern set the record lap on July 12, 2024, the Panamera was equipped with racing seats and a safety cage to protect the driver, but otherwise the specifications were the same as the production model.

• Lars Kern has already set class records on the Nordschleife with a Panamera in 2016 and 2020, most recently with a Panamera Turbo S.
• The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has improved its lap time by 5.64 seconds in 2020, proving yet another evolution of the four-door sports car.
