Pay attention to the size of the cargo liner in the front trunk of the Porsche 911

Front cargo liner of 991.2 type Porsche 911 GT3

An acquaintance of mine switched from a 991.2 type Porsche 911 GT3 to a 992.1 type GT3. So, I received a cargo liner, which is a genuine Porsche tequipment.

Thank you ^^

Is the front cargo liner a waterproof case for the front trunk of the 911? It fits perfectly in the trunk to prevent the inside of the trunk from getting dirty.

Thank you for keeping it as good as new.

With this, you can rest assured when you put car wash goods that may still be a little wet after washing the car in the trunk of the black Carrera!

happy.

Now, let's start with the Black Carrera.

This black Carrera is the Porsche 911 of the same "991 late model (991.2)" that the cargo liner I received was completely addicted to.

"I have a cargo liner that I received from the same late 991 GT3. I hope the inside of the trunk doesn't get dirty from today."

Enter the cargo liner!

oh. Good vibes?

Hmmm. No... uh, uh, is this a good feeling?

Oops. Surprise.

Even though it's the same 991 late model 911, when I put the cargo liner for GT3 I received into my base model Carrera, it's ridiculous.

When I put it in with the back side, there was a big gap in front (yellow frame) ↓

That's a big gap, isn't it? ?

When I put a warning triangle in this gap as a test, it fell into the darkness and disappeared.

Oh my God, it's the same late 991 Carrera, but the size doesn't fit!

Next! (I'm going next (laughs))

Next was the 718 Boxster GTS (2019 model / 982). *I don't have the 718 anymore because I've said goodbye now, but it still existed when I was trying this out.

Come on, Cinderella fit.

Could it be that you are the one with the same front trunk shape as the GT3?

Let's go.

I'll put it in.

oh? Oooh?

It feels good.

This feels really good.

It is said that the 991.2 type GT3 cargo liner fits the 718 Boxster (982) better than the 991.2 type Carrera.

Even so, if you try to fit the cargo liner on the back side, there will be a gap in the front.

Not a good fit.

Especially in the corner part of this side there is a considerable gap ↓

Well, even so, it was a fit that I didn't really care about when I used it normally (I'm a normal person, so I don't care about it at all (laughs), but maybe it's impossible for those who care? ?), I decided to use the cargo liner I received this time on the 718.

so.

I was allowed to use it, but as mentioned aboveI said goodbye to the 718 Boxster GTS the other daySo I lost my car.

The remaining cargo liner is moving again.

The new location is...here.

992.1 type Carrera T. I haven't tried this cargo liner on the 992 yet, so I'm excited because I don't know if it will fit.

The result of putting it in.

that? Are you pretty fit? There is no gap than 718? ?

Well, this time I put the cargo liner for the 991.2 type GT3 in different types of Porsche, and I noticed that "The front trunk that looks the same at first glance is actually different in shape and capacity." I was.

The cargo liner for the 991.2 GT3 I received this time is:

  • Too small for 991.2 Carrera
  • It fits the 982 type 718 Boxster, but it was still a little small
  • For the 992.1 Carrera... it was a little too big

This is the result.

Here, the cargo liner in the 992.1 Carrera T looks like a perfect fit at first glance, but this time it's actually quite tight, and I feel like if I push it in forcibly, I probably won't be able to take it out again.

With the back side slightly floating, if you push down on the yellow arrow, you probably won't be able to take it out again...maybe? It was that kind of feeling.

Speaking of which, the person who gave me this cargo liner also tried to transfer this 991.2 type to the 992.1 type GT3, and the case was caught because the carpet part on the back side protruded, and it was pushed down while using it. I remembered that I was told that I decided to buy a new one for the 992 model because I thought I wouldn't be able to remove it (it's too late to remember).

After investigating, it seems that the shape of the front trunk of the 991.2 type has some differences depending on the model.

  • 911 Turbo S
  • 911 Turbo S Cabriolet
  • 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series

992.1 type Porsche 911 has the same front trunk shape for all models

And when this becomes the 992.1 type, there is only one type of cargo liner (cargo liner model number: 992 044 002).

In other words, I think that after the 992, all models of the 911 have the same shape of the front trunk.

Well, it's a small thing, but it was fun to discover it ^ ^

By the way, according to the main specifications, the trunk capacity is:

  • 991.2 Carrera 145L
  • 991.2 GT3 125L
  • 992.1 Carrera 132L
  • 992.1 Carrera T 132L
  • 992.1 GT3 132L
  • 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 150L (*718 has front and rear trunks)

It was. It seems that not only the capacity but also the shape of the cargo liner fit was different.

Lastly, I have been talking to the owner who gave me the cargo liner that the shape did not match this time from the time I first realized it, and we both had an inquisitive mind, saying, "That's right." I have been communicating with you, and this blog is not about writing complaints such as "The size doesn't fit!"

I am very happy and grateful that you handed it over to Mr. Black Carrera if you don't mind! thank you.

And, as I expected, I'm thinking, "Well, if it doesn't come off, it's time to get it out," and I'm considering using it on the Carrera T for a while (laughs).
