Participate in Porsche Club Utsunomiya event at Tsukuba Circuit Gymkhana

On this day, I came to the gymkhana field of Tsukuba Circuit again.

It was the day of the stationary circular event of Porsche Club Utsunomiya, but since I am not a Porsche Club member, I can only participate when there is a vacancy in the participation frame. A member who was scheduled to participate in the event was unable to attend, so he handed over the slot to me, so I was able to participate.

Thank you very much.

My life changed a lot depending on whether I was allowed to participate on this day or not (exaggerated... no, but really ^^)! !

It was fun to meet all the members of the Porsche Club Utsunomiya again, and it's really fun because everyone is really kind and good.

Porsche Club Utsunomiya is a club where you can join even if you have not purchased Porsche at Porsche Center Utsunomiya, so if you are interested, please contact us ^ ^

The time that one person can use for steady circle turning is 3 minutes at a time.

I use a kitchen timer so that I can run without worrying about the time, but this time I thought, "If you think about it, you don't need a screen because you don't use the navigation system, right?" I tried (laughs).

It was easy to see and easy to operate. I stick it on so it doesn't fall off.

Well, drift practice for the first time in a long time.

The goal for this day is the same as the previous goal, "to be able to drift a Porsche 911 one lap".

I ran the first time immediately.

This time, at the end of the last time, "Let's go with WOT acceleration” is finally being put into practice.

Impressed by the performance of Porsche's PSM

Start running, WOT acceleration! After stepping in, if you think that the 911 has slipped and turn on the accelerator ... Huh? what? Why? … No, um, the car stops (decelerates).

picture? I thought, and tried it again, but when I turned on the accelerator from "Hey, I slipped!"... it slowed down.

I thought, "I thought I was stepping on the accelerator, but maybe I was stepping on the brake unconsciously?"

I tried it several times and was very confused, thinking, "That's strange, why does it stop (decelerate)?"

And I noticed that I forgot to turn off Damn it, PSM (Porsche Stability Management)! !

I noticed it towards the end of the 3-minute time limit, but I was really moved at this time.

Of course, until now, I wanted to know the difference between "PSM on" and "PSM off", and I dared to try both ON and OFF and experience it.

But at that time, I was riding knowing whether it was on or off, so I think I was predicting it in my own way.

I didn't realize that I didn't turn it off this time, and I was running on the premise that it was turned off, so I was surprised that the car was forced to slow down the moment the Carrera slipped. bottom.

What a nice car.

I was really impressed and after this first run, the person who told me this day said, "If Porsche slips, it really comes to stop the car!"How amazing is Porsche when PSM is ON While talking about this, I got goosebumps from being so moved that I even showed my own goosebumps, saying, "I was so moved that I got goosebumps!" (laughs).

I felt from the bottom of my heart that I could drive so safely thanks to PSM, and I was impressed by the high safety of Porsche again.

Porsche is amazing.

…However, on this day, my purpose was to make the car slide and drift, so I turned off the PSM after this.

When I thought about it, I was happy to be able to enjoy the original Porsche 911 in an environment where I could drive relatively safely even if I turned off the PSM.

Toyota GRMN Yaris

Now that I've turned off PSM, I'll do my best in drifting from the next run! I thought, but before that.

I'm curious about this car in front of me. Yeah, you're curious, right?

Oh.

Isn't this Toyota's GRMN Yaris! !

Cool and cute!

As the owners of the GRMN Yaris have said, the round body really looks like a Choro-Q.

I didn't know, but Mr. Morizo's signature is on the windshield.

When purchasing this signature, there may be an option to "not add a signature".

This sign is not attached to the glass, but it is structured as if it is sandwiched between the glass.

The owner of the GRMN Yaris, who showed me this car this time, is a person who can drift any car. It won't slip!" I was resisting, but it was really nice to see him gradually tame me and let him slide ^^

In the end, the GRMN Yaris, which was completely tamed and drifted, looked like a Choro-Q slipping and turning, and it was cool and adorable.

Well, it's now 9:11, so I'd like to return to my drifting experience.

The gymkhana field was sprinkled with water on this day as well...

This is my rear tire too! So slippery.

(Reflecting on being too stingy in the last TC1000 runHowever, this day was drifting, so I left it as it is (laughs). Drive very safely on the way back and forth)

It's not a drift from the accelerator off so far, but a drift start practice by accelerating after stepping on the accelerator to some extent.

Although I was able to make the first start, I still couldn't continue drifting for a long time.

No matter how many times I tried, I still couldn't continue drifting around the circle, so I had the instructor who came that day drive the car.

I was shown the situation where my black Carrera was drifting from the passenger seat, and I was able to do the part that I was not good at, "from the beginning of the drift to the continuation" many times.

We will teach you everything you can learn by watching, such as the speed when drifting, the feeling of turning on the accelerator after the drift starts, how to turn the steering wheel, etc.

I remembered a lot of things that I had forgotten, so after driving, I practiced with the following in mind.

What I was aware of when drifting the Porsche 911

That's what:

  • Speed around 25km/h before drift start
  • Even when stepping in with WOT acceleration, 35 to 40 kilometers per hour
  • After that, leave the accelerator lightly and wait for a beat, then turn on the accelerator and operate the steering wheel.
  • After that, do not step too much, but step firmly where necessary & keep steering control
  • When you are about to enter the inside, turn on the accelerator more than you think and continue drifting

Anyway, what was important to me, as I've been told many times, is the cardinal rule, "Even with WOT acceleration, keep the approach speed low", and this is the secret to continuing drifting in the first place.

In fact, when I ride with people who can drift, they are not accelerating at all, and it is a speed that makes me think, "Huh? Is this the start of drifting?"

This time, I remembered everything I had learned about the "drift start from a low speed" and the control after the start, and tried them one by one.

Yes.

All of a sudden, there was a moment when I thought, “Oh, I might be able to do this.”

There was a moment when I realized, "Ah, this is drifting."

Finally I was able to do one lap of the drift with the Porsche 911

Here is a video of my impressive drifting experience.

I can only thank those who have left a video of my running that I can't do for a long time (crying). thank you!

On this day, the moment I thought, "Huh?", something connected inside me, and I was able to drift like, "Oh, this is what it is."↓

In the video, it's just one lap, but in reality there were times when I could do two laps at once. ? That's what I think.

What was interesting was when the person who filmed my run said, "I'll take a picture next time!" I was surprised by the weakness of the mental that I was weak.

I thought I was the type who was strong in production, but it was a complete lie. Too weak for the actual performance (laughs).

Anyway, all of a sudden, I was able to experience drifting for one or two laps that day, and I was impressed that all my hard work had paid off.

I am truly grateful to everyone who taught me how to drift a Porsche 911 from scratch.

I am so grateful to Porsche Club Utsunomiya for giving me the opportunity to practice like this. Thank you (tears).

When I was able to do one or two laps in drifting, I was told, "Next, it would be nice if I could control the road surface conditions (wet/dry, uphill/downhill)." , I haven't reached that point yet, and I'm desperate for the handling in front of me.

My next challenge is to assess the road surface conditions in front of me and gain the ability to control them in advance.

No, before that, it's important to be able to drift properly next time (laughs).

I would like to connect to the next thing that I learned this time and was able to grasp as a feeling in myself, "drift the Porsche 911".

On this day, after I was able to complete one lap of drifting for the first time, my legs were already shaking, but I was able to relax by making eye contact with Nico-chan at the door of the car in front of me during the waiting time. I got it ^^

My muscles were sore the next day.

This time I understood that accelerator work when drifting is more delicate than I thought.

In the case of my car, which doesn't have a bucket seat, I always put my left foot on the edge of my car when I'm driving on a circuit or something like this. I tried to operate it while wearing it.

By doing so, I feel that I have become able to add more detailed strength and weakness, and I feel that this is good for me.

After I became able to drift, the chairman of the Porsche Club Utsunomiya got on the passenger seat, but at that time I was very happy that he said, "You can now do it."

However, what I was told at that time was, "You're keeping your hands off the steering wheel."

I was completely unaware of it myself.

However, in reality, it seems that there were many cases where the driver was operating the steering wheel without their hands.

It may take some time, but I will do my best to control the car without taking my hands off the steering wheel.

It's a lot of fun to have the experience of being able to make a challenge for myself every time, and to be able to overcome that challenge.

I am happy to think that by moving forward one by one, I can understand the black Carrera and the parts that I did not understand until now.

On this day, I was able to achieve more than one drift lap in my own Porsche 911, which was my dream, so this day was my drift anniversary.

For me, this day is really ``Because you skated, June 15th is the drift anniversary'' (I wonder if people in the Showa era will understand (laughs)).

It was a very happy day when I thought that I was able to drift with a black Carrera, and I was able to understand and communicate with the black Carrera even a little.

It started to rain on the way home, but I thought that if the well water was left on, the stains from the ion deposit would only increase, so I washed the car with a car wash. I miss the time when I thought, "I only wash my hands" (laughs).

Now that I can't replace my stomach with my back anymore, I use a car wash after driving like this driving lesson. This is what made it possibleThanks to REVOLT UtsunomiyaThat's why.

On this day, I finally had the experience of being able to do more than one lap of drifting with a black Carrera, and I also met a new Porsche owner, so it was a very enjoyable day.

Thank you to everyone who let us have a good time together.

Above all, I am grateful to Porsche Club Utsunomiya for giving me the time and environment to practice drifting.

Without my encounter with Porsche Club Utsunomiya, I wouldn't be where I am today. I can only thank those who introduced Porsche Club Utsunomiya. thank you very much.

In this way, I am irresistibly happy that the Porsche connection is connected, and that the relationship makes me love Porsche even more, and I am grateful for everything.

Thank you!

From now on, I would like to continue to do my best to be able to understand and control the black Carrera more freely ^ ^
