Laguna Seca and Porsche sign sponsorship deal
PorscheWeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca/hereinafter referred to as Laguna Seca) announced that it has signed a sponsorship contract with the company.
Porsche will be the "official car" of Laguna Seca.
Laguna Seca has also become known among Porsche enthusiasts as the venue for the world's largest event for Porsche enthusiasts, the Rennsport Reunion, which has been held here since 2011. It's great news that Porsche will become the official car at Laguna Seca.
I also participated in the Rennsport Reunion in 2023, and so many Porsche fans and owners gathered (more than 91,000 people!), and there were Porsches everywhere, so it was an amazing event.

As part of its sponsorship of Laguna Seca, Porsche also supports the Friends of Laguna Seca, which aims to revitalize the raceway and recreational area.
Speaking of Laguna Seca, last year Porsche won its 600 and 601st IMSA races here, and in February 2024 the Taycan Turbo GT recorded a time of 1:27.87, becoming the fastest electric car at Laguna Seca.
The newly concluded sponsorship agreement will begin with Porsche serving as the official safety car at the TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship IMSA Race Weekend, to be held May 9-11, 2025.
The Porsche Driving Center (PDC) will also open in 2026
And guess what?
The Porsche Driving Center (PDC) is also scheduled to open at Laguna Seca in 2026, where enthusiasts will be able to experience a variety of courses, from introductory courses starting with the basics of vehicle control to intermediate and advanced training for those who want to hone their existing skills.
Details are still being released, but according to current information, the courses available at the driving center include:
- Introduction: Precision/1-day program
- Introductory: Performance/2-day program
- Intermediate: Masters/2-day program
- Advanced: Masters RS/3-day program

Upon completing the three-day Masters RS race license course, you will also be eligible to apply for an SCCA full competition license, which is a competition license issued by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) to participate in full-scale club races.
