Marathon Grand Championship 2023
On Sunday, October 15, 2023, the ``Marathon Grand Championship (MGC)'' and ``Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon'' were held in Tokyo despite heavy rain.
Some of you may have encountered it while walking around town, or seen it on TV.
I also had a vague idea that October 15th would be a marathon, as notices about traffic restrictions had started appearing around town a few weeks before the marathon (?).
This MGC was also supposed to be the selection competition for Japan's representative for the Paris 2024 Olympics. There were 61 players participating.
I was running with the athletes in such an important tournament...
Well, in these photos, it's raining and the lights are shining, and on top of that, it's a rough quality image that I took with my smartphone through a TV screen, so you might not be able to tell what's going on (lol).
I wonder if I can understand this? That's right, what you can see glimpsed behind the athlete is a Porsche Taycan.
It was a bright red Taycan that perfectly matched Kawauchi's red uniform, which he was riding in the rain from the start.

It seems that three Taycans were released in the colors of the French flag, ``blue, white, and red'' in connection with the Paris Olympics, and ``Chief Referee'' was written in large letters on the front.
Regarding cars that appear in marathons and relay races, up until now I have always thought that the number of cars that appear in the Hakone Ekiden is the number of the new year (for example, 2023 for 2023), but recently it has changed. The only things I ever cared about were that I thought they were gone, and that I was impressed by the huge advertisements for Bahn and BMW that took up an entire building in the city during the Tokyo Marathon.
But when Porsches come out like this, I end up looking at Porsches all the time and thinking, ``Isn't that cool?'', and next time I'm likely to look for Porsches again, wondering, ``Is there another Porsche?''
