Super Taikyu FSW 24 Hour Race After Party

"ENEOS Super Endurance Series 2023 Round 2 NAPAC Fuji" was held at Porsche Studio Ginza on Friday, June 2, 2023, and at Fuji Speedway from Saturday, May 27 to Sunday, May 28, 2023. An after-party was held for those who supported Porsche EBI Team WAIMARAMA (car No. 22), which participated in the ``SUPER TEC 24 Hour Race''.

This was an event for EBI's customers, and while the capacity was 50 people, I heard that over 200 people applied. amazing.

On this day, the ``718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport,'' the No. 22 car that actually ran the S-24 Hours, was on display at Porsche Studio Ginza.

It is said that this racing car was transported overland as it was after 24 hours at FSW.

I wasn't able to go to the venue to watch this FSW24H, so I watched it from home on YouTube for about 18 hours, but seeing the Caymans that had fought through the battle in front of my eyes, It also seemed like the scenes I was watching on YouTube were unfolding before my eyes as reality.

My desire to support them locally has really grown. I really want to do my best and go there again next year ^^

This year's EBI Weimarama suddenly started after being hit by another car on the first lap, so I was wondering what would happen, but everyone's efforts from then on went really, really well, and it was very safe (for me as a spectator). There were many hours of time where I could enjoy watching the game with all my heart.

So I thought again, ``Is this a surefire place on the podium?''

I'm sure many of the people who were watching and rooting for car No. 22 this year felt the same way.

However, it was about 21 and a half hours after the race started. I was contacted again by the same No. 21 car that was contacted on the first lap...It took some time to return to the race due to damage to the radiator, etc., and although I managed to return to the race, I lost a large number of positions, and the result was Finished 7th in class after completing 665 laps.

I was moved by the miracle that I was able to return to the race and take the checkered flag, but it was still disappointing as I was doing well until the very end and was within range of the podium.

After this contact, I was screaming as I watched the pink/purple liquid coming out of the Cayman on YouTube. “What, what, what, what happened!!”

...But this is exactly what an endurance race is. Once again, I was reminded of last year's reflections.

Last year, when I was rooting for car No. 22, I was watching the Weimarama team, which had been running at the top of its class as of the morning of the second day, and I thought to myself, ``Isn't this going to win? We're going to win, right?'' as a spectator. That's what I thought.

Of course, I thought that because I wanted him to win.Last year, the Weimarama was unable to run due to a problem and had to retire after about 17 hours. When I saw the match, I thought to myself, ``I shouldn't have thought that I could easily win.''

``Just being able to run for 24 hours is a miracle,'' so even if you're running smoothly at this moment, there's no way you'll think ``Oh, I can win this, right?'' halfway through the final stretch. I couldn't go.

I did the same thing last year, and I did the same thing again this year. introspection. I can't help but get carried away.

In the same way in other classes, cars that we were rooting for, saying, ``Maybe we'll win!'' had some trouble at the very end (tears), and next year we'll have 24 hours until the very end. I would like to continue to support them without letting my guard down.

Having said that, if the race continues to run smoothly until the middle of next year's race, I'm afraid I'll be thinking, ``Ah, I'm going to win?'' (lol).

No, no, no, I have reflected on this for two years in a row, so next year I will definitely continue to support them without feeling relieved until I take the checkered flag at the very end! !

Well, on this day, team drivers Naoya Yamano and Shota Kitazono came and gave us a talk show.

If you have ever supported EBI Weimarama, you know that the Weimarama team is really friendly, and even though the races are serious, the atmosphere is really good.

Mr. Kitazono shared a screen shot of him running FSW in a simulator on a large screen, and Mr. Yamano commented on it.

It's not Fast and Furious, but I think what's great about the EBI Weimarama team is that it has a kind and warm atmosphere that really feels like a family.

I really love everyone, including all the drivers, staff, and everyone who is cheering me on.

Furthermore, this day's eventsWaimarama wineIt was said that it would be provided free of charge.

Yes, Team EBI Waimarama's ``Weimarama'' is a New Zealand wine brand.

On this day, there was also a tasting and sale of Waimarama rosé wine with the limited label "The Momentum by Porsche".

Of course I'll take it~^^

I was able to meet up with the people I watch the Fuji 24 Hours of Super Race with every year, so I had a drink with them...well, I had a lot (lol).

Finger foods from Momentum by Porsche were also available, so we enjoyed chatting with them while enjoying them.

Although it is not pictured, the prosciutto melon that was served afterwards was delicious~^^

After all, isn't it no different than drinking while watching games at FSW 24 hours a day? However, I am grateful to the afterparty for making me feel like I had spent 24 hours of S-Tai in such a fun atmosphere.

We had a really fun time. thank you very much!

The Super Taikyu Series continues, so of course we will continue to support the No. 22 Porsche EBI Team WAIMARAMA.

We are looking forward to seeing you all on the podium ^^!
