The results showed that Porsche owners have the highest level of satisfaction.
According to the results of the APEAL study by the American research firm JD Power, released on July 23, 2026, Porsche ranked first in the premium category for the third consecutive year (APEAL stands for "Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout").
Furthermore, looking at the period since 2020, this marks their sixth time securing the top spot.

The results this time were announced earlier. Results of the "JD Power 2026 US Initial Quality Study (IQS)"The results are quite similar, and in that survey as well, Porsche received the highest rating among all automobile brands, ranking first in both the overall ranking and the premium brand category.
What is the JD Power APEAL study?
JD Power's APEAL study investigates how emotionally attached and excited owners are to their cars, evaluating not just comfort and convenience.
It is said that the car is being evaluated based on various factors related to car ownership, such as technology, safety, connectivity, and ease of use in everyday life.
This isn't simply a ranking of cars with fewer breakdowns or higher performance; it's a survey that reflects how actual owners feel about owning and using those cars.
This 2026 US APEAL study is based on responses from 78,514 owners of new 2026 model year vehicles, with the survey conducted 90 days after the owners acquired their new cars.
The survey period is from June 2025 to May 2026, and the target vehicles are those registered between March 2025 and February 2026.
Regarding these results, Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche North America, spoke about the "emotional connection" between Porsche and its customers:
"The emotional connection that customers have with Porsche goes far beyond the vehicle itself, and we never take that for granted."
"Customer trust and enthusiasm are what drive us to deliver exceptional products and meaningful experiences every day, while staying true to what makes Porsche unique."
The comment reads:
This year's APEAL study was scored out of 1,000 points, and Porsche received 896 points. This is above the average of 893 points for all premium brands, and represents a 6-point increase from the previous year.
In this large-scale owner survey, Porsche topped the premium brand rankings for the third consecutive year, with the 911 also securing first place in the premium sporty car category.
But surprisingly, the car that scored the highest among Porsche's lineup wasn't the 911, but the Panamera. The Panamera earned 910 points.

If you look closely, you'll see the Cayenne is also included in the upper-midsize SUV category.

I'm so happy that Porsche owners have the highest level of satisfaction with their cars!
