Test drive the Lamborghini Temerario in Magarigawa and experience 10,000 RPMs

Posted: Posted:

I participated in the "Temerario Test Drive at The Magarigawa Club", the first Lamborghini Temerario test drive event in Japan, and I'm still excited about it, so I'd like to share my thoughts about it with you.

I am extremely grateful to Cornes Shiba for giving me this precious opportunity to experience the event. Thank you very much.

Purchasing a Lamborghini and a Ferrari from Cornes has opened up a dream world for me, allowing me to experience a world I could never have imagined.

So, on this day, I visited Magarigawa Club on the first day of the first Temerario test drive event in Japan.

When we arrived, the sign "You can't hide who you are" was already there at the entrance. It felt like Magarigawa was already under Temerario's control from the very beginning.

Enter the Magarigawa facility and runThis Temerario looks like the one that was at the Lamborghini Day the other day.But.

It was a truly luxurious sight to see the Temerario parked there in such a normal manner.

Continuing on, we arrived at the parking lot in the Magarigawa clubhouse area, where, as you'd expect, there were many Lamborghinis.

I'm sorry that I didn't read the situation and drove a Porsche 911 GT3 (997) (lol).

But I'm happy to be able to line up the 997 with a wonderful Lambo ^ ^

When I parked my car and entered the clubhouse, it was already decorated in Temerario colors, making me wonder if this was really a Temerario facility.

There was also lively music being played by a DJ, who mainly played American hit songs, which is something I always love, and is unique to Lamborghini.

The best.

After checking in, the first thing you will do is sign a pledge form (only for those who will be running).

Thankfully, my husband and I were also able to run on this day, so we both signed the pledge.

At the test drive venue, I was excited to see the Temerario sitting right at the entrance, but...

When I went inside, I was amazed to see so many Temerarios.

It was truly amazing to see so many Temerarios right in front of me.

Furthermore, the entire Magarigawa area was painted in Temerario colors for the test drive that day, to the point that it seemed as if it had been "jacked by Temerario." Can you even see the word Temerario written above the exit leading to this ride? ↓

For those entering the pit on the other side, the words "Temperario" were also displayed, and next to that it said "You can't hide who you are."

The monitors displayed in the pit are also Temerario.

Temerario is also at the reception.

The windows of the rooms where meals are served also feature Temerario and Lamborghini emblems.

The highlight is this huge Temerario logo.

The Magarigawa Club was so decked out in Temerario colors that day that it seemed as if Lamborghinis from all over the world had brought all of the Temerario promotional goods they had prepared.

Ad Personam exhibition and...

There will also be an exhibition and explanation of the Bridgestone POTENZA SPORT tires used for the Temerario.

The Temerario tires are 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the rear, but looking at them like this, they are quite different.

In the back, there was an exhibit of this orange Temerario, but what was it for?It was a demonstration of Apple Vision.

By wearing the Apple Vision wearable device and looking at Temerario, I was able to enjoy a variety of virtual experiences.

For example, if you select "Aerodynamics," the view you see through the wearable device is easy to understand, as it displays the air flow on an actual car, like this.

*The image projected through this TV screen is the view seen when wearing the wearable device.

See the car's structure in a skeleton...

It's a little hard to understand, but you can remove the engine and see what its structure is like.

It was quite an interesting experience.

When Porsche recently unveiled a new car, they used this kind of VR equipment to show the engine and hybrid structure to the press at the venue, and it really made me think, "So that's what it's like."

There was also a cafe area in the pit.

Now, the test drive session I participated in that day started with lunch.

Buffet-style lunch at the restaurant inside Magarigawa Club.

The cups used for the espresso, provided by Lavazza, which has a sponsorship partnership with Lamborghini, were a collaboration with Lamborghini. Stylish.

After enjoying a hearty and delicious lunch and feeling full, I felt so satisfied that I even wondered if I needed to take a nap, and then the driver's meeting began before the test drive.

Explanations and precautions for the test drive.

First, a representative from Lamborghini Japan told us that the Temerario is classified as a "super sports car," and explained that the car's V8 twin-turbo hybrid engine can reach 10,000 rpm, and that combined with the motor it boasts 920 horsepower.

Next, one of the instructors gave us an explanation of things to be careful of when test driving. An instructor who also participated in GIROSo I was overwhelmed with nostalgia.

By the way, this drivers' meeting was held in a bar area that is normally only accessible to Magarigawa members, so I was grateful to have the opportunity to experience that place.

After listening to the explanation, it was finally time to test drive the Temerario.

On this day, each person was allowed to run 3 laps of the course x 2 sets.

There were also motor journalists and others there.

I also ran it twice (3 laps each) ↓

When I got into the driver's seat of the Temerario to drive for the first time, I was extremely nervous.

I was feeling nervous, wondering if it would be okay, if I could drive it, if I would be able to enjoy the car properly, and if I would make any operating mistakes, and my nerves even grew to the point where I was feeling a bit nervous and wondering, "I wonder if I can enjoy driving this Temerario for 10,000 revolutions?"

First, I started talking to the instructor who was in charge of me on the first lap (the instructor rode with me in the passenger seat during the test ride), and he asked me, "Have you been to GIRO?" When I replied, "Yes, I have!" he said, "I was the leader at GIRO in Hokkaido."

Wow, what a pleasant surprise to meet him again. He was different from the GIRO instructor who had explained things to us earlier; he was the same person who had led our group at GIRO.

The instructor at the time was wearing a face cover for a full-face helmet, so only his eyes were visible and I felt bad that I didn't notice him, but I was happy that he did notice.

We started the day with our tensions easing as we talked about our time at GIRO.

By the way, this is Temerario.

Although it is possible for people over 2 meters tall to board, even with my seat raised to the maximum, I, who am 160 cm tall, still felt like I needed a bit more seat height.

It might be just right for a man (of average height), but I think it would be nice to have a cushion underneath. Of course, it's possible to drive without one.

The Temerario has several drive modes, including the charging mode, Strada, which is the normal drive mode, and Corsa, which is the sport and circuit mode.

When test driving the Temerario at Magarigawa, the Corsa mode is the best way to experience its true essence, but the Corsa requires manual operation using the paddles, and since I'm not used to driving a Lamborghini, I was a little intimidated, so this time I decided to test drive it in Sport mode instead of Corsa (my husband drove it in Corsa).

This is the view from the driver's seat looking back.

Also, since the car was a left-hand drive, I think it was almost impossible to see to the rear right.

Therefore, I felt that it would be dangerous if I didn't carefully look over my right rear side when driving on public roads or on a circuit.

On this day, there were only a few cars on the course at the same time, overtaking was prohibited, and the instructors were communicating with each other via radio, so it was okay not to have to check left, right, or behind so carefully, but I felt that under normal circumstances, you need to be more careful and check things carefully.

When the test drive started, I didn't know where to release the parking brake, so I asked, "Huh, where's the parking brake?" and was told, "Oh, this is still new and the parking brake isn't installed yet, so this is it" (laughs).

Do you understand? The device that the wire is connected to is the parking brake.

The Temerarios available for the day were 14 that had been brought from Italy and were touring the world for test drives.

Amazing. Can you see that each one is numbered?

We were given the luxury of being able to test drive 14 Temerarios, which had been shipped directly from Italy and which did not even have their parking brakes installed.

Anyway, I digressed, but the instructor said that if he were to use the parking brake in an emergency, it would cause quite a shock (stopping too suddenly), so we started the test drive by saying, "If you feel it's dangerous, just say 'Brake!' I'll apply full brakes!"

The first time was really exciting.

Before the test drive, I wondered, "Can it reach 10,000 RPM?", but even with the engine in sport mode, I was able to reach 10,000 RPM in no time. What? It was like, "10,000 RPM already?"

Well, anyway, it's just "fast."

It was so fast that it seemed like a complete circuit car. It was a racing car.

My first impression when I drove it was that the steering was light.

The Temerario is really fast, and if you're a pro, you'll be amazed at how light the steering is, allowing you to quickly move the car in any direction you want (it's really incredibly responsive), but for someone at my level, the lightness of the steering compared to the speed of this car is a bit scary, and I thought it would be better if it was heavier! (laughs)

I think this is definitely a racing car that only those who can master it can use it.

I was so nervous that I ended up sitting too far forward (lol).

At the test drive event that day, yellow cones were placed in places where drivers were advised to brake.

So, during my first test drive, I went full throttle on a straightaway and applied almost full brakes at a yellow cone, which caused the rear to shake and sway.

Oooohhh. Scary.

...I've heard that it might get better if the tires warmed up a bit more, but I still felt like the rear end was shaking quite a bit when I applied full braking.

During the second test drive, a different instructor (from the first) filmed the ride, and this time we slowed down just before the yellow cones to prevent the rear from shaking, and the top speed recorded was 251 km/h, although I think the first time we went even faster.

It's really fast.

In an instant, the car reached a frightening speed as if it were the most natural thing in the world. It reached 10,000 RPM in the blink of an eye. It accelerated to nearly 300 km/h in the blink of an eye.

The acceleration was amazing, the brakes worked well, and I didn't feel any turbo lag at all.

On this day, I was riding with the instructor who was the lead car at GIRO, followed by the instructor who filmed my ride, while my husband was accompanied by Motojima, who drives a Lamborghini in GT300 and other classes.

I think the conversation in the car was about the Temerario, but it seems we were talking more about bicycles and triathlons (lol). Thank you for letting me have a fun time and test ride the wonderful Temerario ^^

That's right, if you look at the door handles of the Temerario that was there, you'll see that they are sturdy like this...

Do you see this? It's not a solid door lever, but a strap-like thing.

Is this the Alleggerita (lightweight) package?

Anyway, that day I was really excited to experience the adrenaline pumping power of 920 horsepower and 10,000 rpm.

Cornes Lamborghini Shiba, thank you very much!

One last.

There was also a cute police car at Magarigawa: a Toyota Hilux patrol car (open-top!).

I have to be careful not to get caught ^^

And finally, check this.

This area in front of the passenger seat...

Yes, when you open it, there's a cup holder.

Wait, hmm? This cup holder looks like something I've seen before.

Wow. When I took it out, I saw that it had the same cup holder as my original Carrera (lol).

Temerario too,The phenomenon that was unveiled the other dayI like the fact that all the models are equipped with the same cup holders as the original Carrera.

After the test drive, we said goodbye to everyone and quickly left Magarigawa Club.

On the way back, we left the gate and saw a lovely sight.

After driving the Temerario, I headed home in a Porsche 911 (997) GT3, and the experience was a complete change from the Temerario's extremely light steering to the GT3's extremely heavy steering and clutch.

What I thought then was that with the 997GT3, I felt the sensation of "driving the car myself," or the depth of the Porsche flavor, or the "joy of driving a car."

In contrast to this, with the Temerario, it's not so much that you feel like you're in control of the car; the car is so well-made that I think the higher the driver's level, the better the driving experience it will provide.

On the way back, I came across several Porsches after passing Sodegaura (I think?), so I thought, "Oh, these cars are on their way back from PEC Tokyo?" and I didn't mind the traffic jam ^ ^

Thank you for allowing me to experience the 10,000 revolutions of this truly extraordinary Lamborghini, the Temerario.

I also had the opportunity to speak with Paulo, CEO of Lamborghini Japan, and we also had a chat about the Lamborghini Day the other day. Paulo is a very gentle and wonderful person.

I think the Temerario is a really fast and amazing car that can be enjoyed by people who like to drive hard on the circuit.

At the same time, the Temerario is also practical as it can carry a lot of luggage, so I think it is a car that can satisfy the needs of many people.

Thank you for letting me test drive the Temerario, such a wonderful car that Lamborghini is proud of!
