Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS and Ducati nearly collide at the Nurburgring

Posted on: July 30, 2024 Updated:

Watching this made me so excited.

It was like they were almost going to collide! The people who were actually riding the train might have had the illusion that they were "colliding!", because they were so close to each other.

The attempted accident occurred on the Nürburgring course while YouTuber xthilox was filming his friend Eric driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS.

Apparently the GT4 RS was going at around 180km/h when it tried to overtake the Ducati Panigale, so if there had been contact at that speed it could have been a very serious accident.

The GT4 RS went off the track and avoided the collision. It was amazing that they were able to avoid such a momentary event, even though it was a close call. Well, it's not good that they ended up in this situation in the first place.

After this lap, the GT4 RS and Ducati riders reportedly shook hands, and at that moment they must have both thought, "What is this?", but the fact that nothing happened and the two ended up reconciling(?) is the best thing.

By the way, can motorcycles and cars run at the same time on the Nürburgring? That might be quite a scary situation.

Even if it wasn't the Nürburgring, if I was told at some course in Japan that "Today you'll be riding on a circuit with motorbikes too," I'd be too scared to ride, considering my own driving skills.

In any case, I'm really glad that nothing happened and the lap was completed without incident. If you look at the video below from about 7:30, you can see where it looks like they might have made contact.
