Visit Porsche Studio Ginza to meet Dai Tamura and go to the exhibition

Porsche x Dai Tamura Special ART exhibition

Between September 16th and 24th, 2023.Porsche Studio GinzaAtDai TamuraAn exhibition was being held.

The name is "Porsche x Dai Tamura Special ART exhibition".

I myself have always wanted to make drawing pictures of Porsches my hobby in retirement, so I was very interested in "hand-drawn pictures of Porsches."

Also, Mr. Tamura himself will be at Porsche Studio Ginza for three days from September 16th to 18th during this event.

In that case, I wanted to ask the person in person if possible, so just as I was thinking, ``I'd like to go,'' someone asked me, ``Would you like to go to this event?'' and invited me to join them. I have decided to do so. Yay ^^

When I arrived at Porsche Studio Ginza and entered the entrance, the first thing that appeared in front of me was this Porsche 911.

The front of a 911 is used as a face, and the wrapping features Mr. Tamura's masterpiece ``Flame'' and a work drawn on the theme of Kabuki's kumadori.

This 911 will be held at Fuji Speedway on October 22, 2023Porsche event called Fest. (EBI Group)It is said that it will actually be run.

Tamura's works are placed and displayed all over Porsche Studio Ginza.

There are many dynamic works depicting NBA players and other athletes.

Of course, the main event of the day was a collaboration with Porsche, so there were many pictures of Porsche on display.

This is a picture of the No. 22 Weimarama, which the EBI Group runs in the Super Taikyu. A work that captures the moment when I entered the pit.

Works drawn using pens and markers.

No matter what work I look at, the thought that comes to mind is, ``It would be fun to draw something like this.'' No, I'm sorry that my impressions are just my own desires ^^

Towards my hobby of "drawing pictures of Porsches" in my old age (?) I still sometimes draw pictures of Porsches, but at that time I was always worried about "how to draw them". .

Well, a car is a "thing", and its outline can be expressed with beautiful lines.

But I just can't draw the outline (911 curve) straight. That's why the outline of the car always looks a little squishy (lol).

For example, this is my latest drawing (but it's not progressing in the middle of drawing), and I think it's easy to understand because you can see the base line, but the outlines of various parts are not drawn straight in the first place. Can you understand? ↓

In comparison, Mr. Tamura's drawings have a lot of "cars" in them.

He is a professional, and I understand that it would be a shame to even compare him to me, an amateur. But for me, not being able to draw a straight outline is a matter of life and death for a happy life in retirement.

Therefore, I wanted to ask Mr. Tamura about this, so I was embarrassed to ask Mr. Tamura himself.

Mr. Tamura, I really appreciate you taking the time to talk to me about something such an amateur just wanted to draw a Porsche.

By the way, it seems that it takes about three days to draw a picture of a car such as a Porsche.

It seems that a painting of a person only takes about 2 hours.

Oh, this work is being held by the EBI group.Porsche 911 rally eventAt the goal of...porsche vision 357It's a work that combines ^^↓

Anyway, I was very happy that I was able to confirm what I wanted to know that day.

I feel even more motivated towards retirement ^^

Is there a reproduction of Mr. Tamura's workshop inside Porsche Studio Ginza? I don't know if it is, but they are made, and there are a huge number of Copics (pens) there. This is amazing too.

When I asked them what was the most difficult part of drawing a Porsche 911, etc., they said things like the headlights were surprisingly easy, but the most difficult and time-consuming part was the wheels.

Well, I think this is a story that anyone who has ever tried to draw a car by hand, whether good or bad, can understand.

When I try to draw a car, the wheels are really troublesome (lol).

Ah, I thought that professionals would feel the same way, and I was like ``I see...'' ^^

And at the end, I got an autograph with my name on it. thank you very much!

It was a day that I enjoyed drawing, of course, but I also had a lot of fun chatting with the people I was with!

It was fun to be introduced to people I was meeting for the first time and to talk to them about various things.

It looks like I'll be able to meet you all at the Fest. event (EBI's Porsche event) in October, so I'm looking forward to that day ^^

There was another Speedster that came along that day, but I couldn't take a photo of it because it was parked a little far away and I had to leave already. disappointing!

By the way, it seems that you can apply to have Dai Tamura draw a picture of your car at the Fest. event on October 22nd (of course, the picture will not be drawn on the spot, but the picture will be sent to you later). If you are interested, please check it out.

*We are not sure if advance registration is required or if you can apply on the day of the event, so if you are interested in participating in the festival, please contact us.
