Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: Meet the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

I was told that "Xiaomi is holding some kind of event," so I thought, "Eh, is that Xiaomi?" and went to check it out.

I went to the event thinking that Xiaomi's cars would be the main focus, but in fact the main exhibits were smartphones and home appliance systems.

Well, that's true (laughs).

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

I immediately went inside the venue, but the car wasn't there, so I thought, "Huh?" and looked around, only to find that the car was on display facing the outside of the venue.

This, this is my goal!

This car is the SU7 Ultra, a fully electric vehicle that Xiaomi boasts is said to be extremely fast.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is currently the car that holds the fastest lap time at the Nürburgring for a mass-produced EV!

It even surpasses the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT...no, that's not true (lol), but it is a model that holds the record for the fastest mass-produced EV car.

So behind the car exhibit, there was a huge display of the car's time at Nürburgring.

It's a bit frustrating, but there's no point in me feeling frustrated here.

Even if your focus has been solely on setting a record at Nürburgring, the fact remains that you did set a record, so I think that's truly amazing.

And yet their main business is smartphones and stuff...

In this situation, does Porsche have no choice but to make amazing smartphones and smart home appliances? (No, not (lol)).

Are Xiaomi and Porsche similar?

By the way, it seems that overseas people have said that this Xiaomi car looks similar to the Taycan when viewed from the side, so let's see.

Well, I'm not sure so I've put together some photos.

From top to bottom, it's Porsche Taycan → Xiaomi → Cayman.

It's not the Cayman. But if you say it's close to the Taycan, well, sure? That's how it feels.

From the front, it looks closer to the Cayman.

When you compare them, it looks like this.

From left: Cayman → Xiaomi → Taycan.

I wonder if the headlights are more Cayman than Taycan.

But they are slightly different. The top is Xiaomi and the bottom is Cayman.

Still, when I looked at it from afar, I somehow got the impression that it looked like a Porsche.

By the way, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is not yet on sale in Japan, and even if it does become available in the future, it will likely be a while before it is released.

So, although it is just a reference price, the price of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra that was said on that day was:

• Basically, about 10.6 million yen
• The top-of-the-line model with options costs around 18 million yen.

is what they said.

This price was apparently something that was instructed at the event as "If anyone asks you the price, answer with that," so it's unclear how accurate the number is.

Still, it's amazing that the so-called standard version (?) can be purchased for 10.6 million yen.

And yet it surpasses the Taycan, the fastest car at the Nurburgring.

On this day's exhibition, we were not allowed to open the car doors or get inside, so we took photos of the interior through the open window.

Next to the SU7 Ultra was an exhibit of smart home appliances, including a TV that appeared to be showing Gran Turismo 7.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is scheduled to be included in Gran Turismo 7.

On this day, as a Porsche lover,

"You beat the Taycan Turbo GT's record!!"

So I went to see it with great enthusiasm, and although I wanted the Taycan to be faster, I couldn't help but think that the SU7 Ultra, which had set the record, was amazing.

"You can do it, sweetheart!"

With that parting remark, I left the place. (lol)
