PDK is fine ... but MT got stuck in some sort of sound regulation
Well, I was surprised.

The reason is that "MT is stuck in some California regulation."
The GT3TP MT and PDK have the same powertrain, and are NA 4-liter horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engines. However, it seems that only MT is useless.
By the way, there was no description that MT sales can not be done especially in California for GT3 who is not a touring package, but since it is written as "GT3" in Porsche's official statement described later, it is written in TP. It seems that it is not limited to GT3 itself.
As for what kind of regulation was caught, the details are not clear, but what was caught was "sound regulation (sound regulation)".

The exact reason for what is causing the problem is unknown, and it seems that tweaks that can make noticeable sonic differences, especially in the PDK and MT exhaust systems, are not recognized.
But California clearly seems to be aware of some differences.
It seems unclear at this point whether it is possible to buy a GT3 MT next to California or in a different state and bring it back to California.
Porsche will continue to work to get the 6-speed manual transmission approved in California, but it seems difficult, at least during the 2022 model.
The price of GT3 TP (992) in the United States is the vehicle body price "162,350 dollars (about 17.88 million yen)" (including the fee that must be charged).
Delivery in the United States is scheduled for early 2022. GT3 itself will start around the fall of 2021.

The California Code of Regulations (CCR) 1046 refers to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) test procedure "J1470" in the last revised External Noise Standard in 1988. That thing.
There is a new SAE standard "J2805" in this J1470, so it seems that GT3 could also pass if it was a test referring to that, so Porsche was expecting it ... However, in reality, J1470 is still applied, so it seems that it has become NG.
However, I don't understand why it's only MT ...? ??
