Porsche 911 Dakar unveiled, limited to 2,500 units

Off-road capable four-wheel drive Porsche 911 Dakar

On November 16, 2022 (local time), the Porsche 911 Dakar was announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the United States.

Porsche says the 911 Dakar is just as comfortable off-road as it is on the highway. that's amazing ^^

What is the Porsche 911 Dakar?

• Exclusive model limited to 2,500 units
• A model that shows that the Porsche 911 concept has almost no limits
• A model that reminds us of Porsche's first overall victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally (and that was the beginning of the four-wheel drive Porsche 911).

• The Porsche 911 Dakar also comes with a rally design package reminiscent of the design of the car that won the 1984 Paris-Dakar.

• The most impressive thing about the 911 Dakar is its ground clearance.
  • 50 mm higher than Porsche 911 Carrera with sports suspension
  • Additional 30mm lift with standard lift system (front and rear ends)
  • Dakar's vehicle height and ramp angle are comparable to conventional SUVs
  • The lift system not only avoids obstacles at low speeds, but is integral to the retuned chassis and integrated into the suspension.
  • The "high level" setting allows off-road adventures up to 170km/h, above which the vehicle height automatically drops to normal level

• Complementing the characteristics of the 911 Dakar are the specially developed Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires.
  • The size is 245/45 ZR 19 inches at the front and 295/40 ZR 20 inches at the rear.
  • The thick tread pattern has a depth of 9mm and the reinforced sidewalls and threads consist of two carcass plies.
  • All this makes the 911 Dakar tires perfect for difficult terrain and cut resistant.
  • Optional Pirelli P Zero tire summer and winter tires are also available as an option with a two-layer carcass ply (standard equipment is all-terrain tires).

• 480 horsepower (PS) 3-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbo engine with peak torque of 570 Nm
• 0-100km is 3.4 seconds
• Maximum speed is limited to 240km/h due to all-terrain tires

• The transmission is a four-wheel drive with an 8-speed PDK as standard equipment.
• Also standard with:
  • rear axle steering
  • Engine mount adopted from Porsche 911 GT3
  • PDCC anti-roll stability system
• The interaction of all components allows the 911 Dakar to be as dynamic on sandy and rough surfaces as it is on the Nürburgring.
• Two new driving modes can be switched by turning a switch on the steering wheel for maximum off-road performance.

• Rally mode is perfect for bumpy surfaces, with rear-focused all-wheel drive
• Off-road mode automatically raises the vehicle and is designed for maximum traction on difficult terrain and sand.
• Both modes also feature the new Rally Launch Control, which allows for excellent acceleration and around 20% of wheel slip on bumpy surfaces.

  • Newly developed carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) fixed lightweight rear spoiler
  • Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) front bonnet with air outlet inherited from 911 GT3

  • The redesigned front-end side air intakes are also protected from stone chips by stainless steel grilles.

• The roof of the 911 Dakar has a visible 12-volt power outlet for the optional roof rack headlights.
• With a 42kg load capacity, the roof rack easily accommodates rally equipment such as fuel, water, folding shovels and traction boards.
