The design was made with Studio FA Porsche, and the design with a slight counter curve shape and separation edge is based on the principle of "form follows function".

There is also a Porsche three-dimensional logo on the rear end of the roof box.

This roof box is the same as when making a car, and it seems that the design stage starts with making a 1: 1 scale clay model first.

Currently, digitization is progressing in the design of various things, but what I made this time with a clay model is to actually see the designed thing in three dimensions and properly see the effect of what Porsche is trying to make. It seems that there was a reason that it could be used for confirmation of whether it was released and for the initial aerodynamic test.

As it is a roof box as an official product made by Porsche, it has a lot of options as well as its functionality, such as its fast permissible speed. I'm scared from here (Isn't it (laughs)).

For example, not only the box, but also the side blades of the box are available in high-gloss black, dolomite silver metallic, carrara white metallic, and volcano gray metallic colors.

It goes without saying that you can order not only the above colors that are available, but also the option to paint in the same color as your vehicle ... ^^

Aerodynamics and handling

The roof box to be released this time is also named "Performance".

There is a reason to get the title of "performance" from Porsche, because it has achieved the above-mentioned allowable speed of "up to a maximum speed of 200 km".

People who wear this Porsche roof box are riding Porsche, so it seems that there is probably a desire to use it at a higher speed.

Certainly, even though I attached it to Porsche, if I was told "I have attached a roof box, please increase the speed to 100 km / h in the future", it seems that "If so, I do not need such a roof box!".

In the drive dynamics test, we drove at high speed with the roof box attached and focused on its controllability.

Endurance tests at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach, and whether it can withstand driving on other rough roads, etc. are also tested, and tests for aerodynamics and noise generation are also tested in the wind tunnel. Already done.

The quick-fastening system makes it easy to install on any base carrier roof transport system.

The roof box has a capacity of 480 liters and can be opened and closed from both sides. As a result, it is said that luggage can be easily and evenly loaded.
