Ah, so Porsche's PCM is about to get even better, with YouTube now coming as standard on the following models that support in-car video:
- 911
- Cayenne
- Panamera
- Taycan
- (The rest are already installed in the EV Macan.)
All four of these new YouTube-enabled models will have access to the video portal from the moment they are delivered, and vehicles that have already been delivered (those with in-car video capability) will be able to retrofit the YouTube functionality free of charge via a software update.
Depending on the model series and equipment, the passenger will be able to watch videos while driving or when not driving.
*The passenger seat display is designed not to be seen from the driver's seat, so it does not get in the way of the driver.
YouTube is free to use on the PCM and does not require prior registration. If you log in with your personal YouTube account, you can of course directly access your subscribed channels and favorites.
By the way, I mentioned that the passenger in the passenger seat can watch it, but when the vehicle is stopped, YouTube can also be played on the PCM's central display, so for example, you can watch YouTube while waiting for the Taycan to charge.
Personally, I thought that it might not be necessary to watch YouTube in the car, but it might be a good way to kill time when you have children who are old enough to enjoy videos.
