The delay in software development is due to the CARIAD division, which is a software company of the Volkswagen Group.
Porsche says:
“The Group is currently jointly developing the E3 1.2 platform for the fully electric Macan BEV with CARIAD and Audi. rice field"

Furthermore, the prospectus also raises concerns that the fact that CARIAD is also developing an E3 2.0 version in parallel, separate from the E3 1.2 platform, could make things even worse.
It is also said that Porsche has the option of not adopting this simultaneously developing E3 2.0 software architecture and going its own way for future cars (a decision on this will be made next year). .
The Macan EV will be one of the first production models to use the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), jointly developed by Audi and Porsche, and will utilize the same 800-volt electrical system as the Taycan for fast charging up to 270 kW. It seems that it will be taken.
By the end of 2023, the EV Macan will start production at the Leipzig plant, where the petrol-powered Macan is currently produced.
