More than 23,500 Tesla Superchargers Now Available to Porsche Owners in North America

In December 2023It was said that starting in 2025, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Scout electric vehicles will be able to use North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging ports.That.

And now, just as announced in 2023, Porsche owners will have soft launch access to Tesla's Supercharger network starting on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The only thing that's a bit of a hassle is that in order for a Porsche to use a supercharger, it has to use the "NACS DC adapter" provided by Porsche.

During the soft launch phase, charging will be done using the Tesla app.

Charging will also be available through the My Porsche app and Plug & Charge in the coming months.

Even so, I thought this was a very customer-oriented decision for Porsche. After all, I guess they didn't want to use Tesla's facilities if possible...

However, from the user's perspective, I think it was a welcome decision, as there will be many people who will benefit from being able to use the many superchargers installed across the United States.

Porsche supplied adapter

All new 2026 Porsche Taycan and Macan EV models will include the Porsche NACS DC adapter at no additional cost.

Owners of the 2025 Taycan and existing Macan EVs will be able to use the adapter free of charge (apparently they can get one if they request it), and eligible owners will be notified via the My Porsche app in the future.

Adapters will not be provided free of charge to customers before the 2024 model year.Online ShopApparently, you'll need to purchase an adapter at a Porsche Center or dealer. The adapter costs $185.

All 2026 Taycan and EV Macan models will be equipped with a navigation function that incorporates the location information of additional chargers...I wrote this, but at the moment, this is only available "within the US," so the function will not be installed in models imported to Japan, and adapters will not be sold at this time (it is unclear what will happen in the future).

For Americans, once superchargers become available, it may be a bit of a hassle to have to plug in the adapter every time, but it will still make charging outdoors much more convenient.

It seems to be concentrated in major locations like LA.

How many Tesla Superchargers are there in Japan? (I wonder)
I've been seeing a lot of Teslas here recently. The area where the front air ducts are usually located is flat, which I personally find quite strange (lol).

  I see them occasionally in Japan, but I don't have the impression that they're in very convenient locations...
  
  And I can really relate to the feeling that it's flat and uncomfortable (lol)! When I see that part, I realize, "Oh, it's a Tesla," but even so, I can't help but think, "It doesn't need to be so flat..." ^^

Who would use the Tesla Supercharger at my local Tsutaya? There are three Tesla Superchargers. If they're available in Japan, would they be suitable for a Macan EV? But the PC service lady was skeptical...
Toyota will soon be releasing a new lithium-ion EV, which will offer free fast charging up to twice a month for one year. This is sufficient for a monthly driving range of around 400 km, but it doesn't compare to Tesla's three or five-year free plan.

What will ICE cars be like in 10 years?

  Is there a supercharger at Tsutaya? I thought maybe I could use it in Japan with an adapter, but I guess it's not that easy for various reasons.
  
  I want to live my life carefully, taking care of my health so that I can see what ICE cars and Porsches will be like in 10 years' time (I know that's a strange response...I've been drinking too much lately...(lol))!
