The Porsche Club of America: PCA
The Porsche Club of America (PCA), an American Porsche club, will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year in 2025.

The PCA was founded in 1955 by Bill Sholar, a commercial artist in Washington, D.C., as a small group of Porsche enthusiasts.
Since then, it has become the world's largest Porsche club, boasting over 145,000 members. 145,000 people is amazing.

The story behind the creation of the Porsche Club of America is a very personal one. It began when Bill bought a 1953 Porsche 356 Coupe and flashed his headlights as a greeting to fellow Porsche drivers.
This small act grew into a desire for deeper connection, and led to the first PCA meeting on September 13, 1955.

... Did something like passing lead to a growing sense of camaraderie and eventually lead to the founding of a Porsche club?
But I think I understand.

When I got on the Porsche, I felt like "Wow, it's really good, Porsche is really good," and I just wanted to convey that feeling to other friends with a light. When I told him, the person who received it was probably thinking, "Porsche is good, it's good," so our feelings were connected, and it grew, and everyone's feelings became one.

Just one year later, the club held its first national gathering, the Porsche Parade, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with 64 members participating in the inaugural event.

Wow, that's amazing.
It was amazing that in just one year, in a time when there was no internet and people living far and wide could not easily communicate with each other, 64 Porsche enthusiasts from all over the country were able to gather together in the vast land of America.
Now, in 2025, PCA continues to adhere to the spirit of its founding.

The 69th Porsche Parade will be held in Oklahoma City from July 6th to 12th, 2025, and will feature various events, including the unveiling of special vehicles.
The car announced is the 911 Carrera T Club Coupé, a limited edition model created in collaboration with Sonderwunsch and Style Porsche to pay homage to the club's founder, Bill Sholar. The car's color is "Sholar Blue," a metallic reinterpretation of the Club Blau color first introduced in 2015.

Designed by Porsche legend Grant Larson, the car is limited to 70 units and is available to PCA members in the United States and Canada.

In addition, Ferry Porsche's son Hans-Peter Porsche, his son Daniel, and his grandson Tamino also participated in the Porsche parade celebrating the 70th anniversary.

The Porsche Club of America's motto is "It's not just the cars; it's the people."

Porsche is indeed a wonderful car, and it is easy to understand why people are fascinated by it alone, but it is people who connect various connections through Porsche, and I also think that the connections that grow between people who share the common ground of loving Porsche are truly amazing.

When I previously participated in a Porsche event at Laguna Seca, the Porsche Club of America members were very generous and even welcomed us, who were not club members, with a feeling of "It's okay if we're just Porsche lovers!" I remember being very happy that they accepted us.

In this way, I hope that the Porsche Club of America will continue to be a club where people who simply love Porsche can enjoy Porsche together and say "Porsche is great" together.
