An incident that occurred in Singapore.
In October of last year, 2025, a 40-year-old man living in Singapore took his 7-year-old and 8-year-old sons for a drive in his Porsche Cayman.
However, this became a problem, and news reports indicate that he was arrested in March of this year.
Why was he arrested just for driving around with his children in the Cayman?
The problem lay in the "location where the children were placed." The children were not placed inside the Cayman, but "outside" the vehicle.
They reportedly had the driver sit facing backward on top of the rear body of the Cayman, holding onto the large aftermarket rear wing attached to it, while they drove around.
Oh no, that's not okay. It's way too dangerous.
If you're just taking pictures of your children sitting in a completely stationary car in your garage or similar location, it should be fine since the car belongs to you.
But to drive it in that condition... and what's more, it wasn't just moved a meter inside the garage; it was driven on a public road, albeit a relatively small one in a residential area near a shopping mall.
It appears the father did it to entertain his children, and the mother even posted a video of him riding with the children on social media, so it seems the parents didn't think it was dangerous and were simply trying to make their children happy.
Even so, it's still dangerous. Looking at the video, it appears to be going at a fairly fast speed.
As a result, it appears that people who saw them on the drive, as well as those who posted on social media, reported them to the police in Singapore, and they were apprehended in March of this year.
Earlier this week, he appeared in court and was found guilty of "reckless behavior that endangered the safety of a child under the age of 14," and was fined 5,000 Singapore dollars (approximately 610,000 yen) and given a six-month suspension of his driver's license.
This 5,000 Singapore dollars is apparently the maximum fine for this crime.
The father had a previous conviction for a traffic violation, and the judge stated that he hoped this ruling would help prevent a recurrence.
