A young man who loves Porsches hopes
This is a sad story, about a Porsche hearse that was made in England.
A young British man (whose age is not publicly known) who loved Porsches, when he learned that he had only a short time left to live,
"I want to be driven to my funeral (crematorium) in a Porsche."
That's what she was hoping for.
And apparently, a funeral director granted that person's last wish.
As someone who is already very sensitive to matters of death, just hearing stories like this makes me sad and brings me to tears when I think about what that person must have felt when they were being transported in a Porsche in the end.
I've never seen a Porsche hearse before, and in fact, I don't even know if there's ever been one in existence.
Nevertheless, the funeral home in the UK that received this request decided to do whatever it took to fulfill the deceased man's wish and began working on converting a Porsche into a hearse.
Porsche Center Hull provided a Taycan GTS Sport Turismo as the base vehicle, and a funeral home spent several days fabricating a custom support frame inside the wagon. A hearse specialist supplier then provided the woodworking, and finally, rollers and other fittings necessary to safely transport the coffin were installed.
This Taycan reportedly has 690 horsepower, so it's said to be one of the fastest hearses ever made.
I'm sure the deceased would enjoy knowing that it was the fastest ever (although, of course, it's not actually possible to run at that speed).
The bereaved family members who saw the completed Taycan hearse were reportedly overjoyed, as it far exceeded their expectations.
The funeral was not a typical funeral, but rather had the atmosphere of a Porsche club gathering, and it is said that many of the attendees arrived in Porsches, and the hearse was a perfect match for that.
According to the funeral home that created this Porsche hearse, they have already received numerous inquiries from Porsche enthusiasts who wish to use a Porsche hearse for their final journey.
Certainly, if you could choose the type of car you'd use for your final journey, many people would probably want to choose their favorite manufacturer.
It was a sad story, but I'm glad that the deceased's last wish was fulfilled and that both the person and their family were happy.
