USA: Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo to be discontinued.

It has been announced that two variations of the Porsche Taycan, the 'Sport Turismo' and the 'Cross Turismo' with increased ride height, will be discontinued in the American market.
It has also disappeared from the 2027 Porsche Configurator (US version).
American Porsche told foreign media
"Porsche is narrowing its product lineup based on customer needs, and in the United States, there was little demand for the Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo body styles, so we have decided to discontinue sales of these model variations."
He said,
In short, these two models didn't sell very well in America...
Given that the Taycan itself is experiencing sluggish sales due to the downturn in the high-performance EV market, it seems inevitable that a less popular model within the Taycan lineup would be discontinued.
While it's true that station wagons are unpopular in the US, other manufacturers' luxury station wagons are actually selling well (such as the Audi RS6 Avant and BMW M5 Touring), so perhaps the reason for the slow sales was that it was an "electric vehicle" wagon.
However, in the American market, the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo model was originally only offered as the GTS (Porsche explained that as of 2024, approximately 19% of GTS buyers had chosen the Sport Turismo).
In any case, the Taycan wagon will no longer be available in the American market, but of course the Taycan sedan will continue to be offered.
As announced recently, this sedan will haveVirtual shifting will be implemented, along with various other upgrades.Therefore, I believe that this model will become even easier to use and offer a wider range of enjoyment in the future.
Interestingly, while the base Taycan and Taycan 4 sedan models are not sold in Canada, America's neighbor, the 4S Cross Turismo will continue to be sold there.
It seems that market needs really do differ from one another.
