Porsche AG reduces the number of its business units from eight to seven.
Currently, Porsche is said to be facing a difficult phase of transformation and is undergoing organizational restructuring. Under the leadership of Porsche CEO Michael Leiters, various organizational structures, including those at the board of directors level, are being continuously adjusted.
As part of this restructuring, an announcement was made regarding the Automotive IT division (Car-IT division).
Up until now, improvements to the driver experience in terms of connectivity and infotainment across all Porsche models have been implemented under the leadership of Sajjad Khan over the past two and a half years.

Sajjad will continue to be involved in Porsche's automotive IT department, but it will no longer function as an independent department; instead, it will be integrated into the R&D (Research and Development) department.
The Automotive IT division will continue until June 19, 2026, after which it will be integrated into the Research and Development division on July 1. The integrated division will continue to be led by Michael Steiner, the current Director of R&D.

About two and a half years ago, we created a separate automotive IT division specifically for cars. However, due to declining sales in the Chinese market and difficulties with our EV strategy, we've decided to reintegrate this automotive IT division into part of our car development process, rather than keeping it as an independent division.
Incidentally, the automotive IT division's achievements over the past two and a half years include a new design language for Porsche infotainment called "Porsche Digital Interaction." This new system debuted in the Cayenne EV and is planned to be installed in many more models in the future (a special version will also be available for the Chinese market).
While Mr. Sajjad will continue to be involved in development in an external, collaborative capacity, he will be stepping down from the Porsche board of directors. As a result, the number of board members at Porsche AG will decrease from eight to seven, and the Car-IT division will be integrated into the R&D division. This suggests that the restructuring is aimed at simplifying the organization and improving cost efficiency.
And, although this might not be the right place to say this, I wish Porsche's PCM was a bit easier to use (lol).
