I wanted to visit Solar Ark before it was demolished.
The other day, I took a day trip from Tokyo to Ise Shrine to visit the shrine, but before heading there, there was one more thing I wanted to do.
For this reason, we left Tokyo early in the morning and headed to Gifu Prefecture. The car we drove was a Porsche 911 GT3 (997.1).
It's a lot of fun to go on long drives with this cute yellow 997 GT3.
Now, this is the place I really wanted to go to and take a photo with the Porsche.
That's right!
Wow, isn't this amazing?!
Yes, this is "Solar Ark" located in Anpachi Town, Gifu Prefecture, which is known only to those in the know.
At first I couldn't read Anpachi-cho, but apparently it's pronounced "Anpachi-cho."
So, what exactly is this Solar Ark? It is a solar panel structure that was built on December 21, 2001.
Moreover, the solar panels used in this project were those that were recalled by Sanyo Electric in 2000 following a scandal involving the fraudulent sale of solar cells.
However, it has been decided that the land on which Solar Ark is located will be sold, so it is currently waiting to be demolished, and it is not known when the demolition work will begin.
From the moment I heard about it, I wanted to see this solar ark with my own eyes, and if possible, photograph it with a Porsche.
My dream came true and on that day I was able to see a real solar arc right in front of me and also take photos with my beloved 997 GT3; it was truly moving.
Doesn't it have a very futuristic feel to it?
I was really happy to be able to take a photo of my Porsche next to this Solar Ark, which has an EVA-like worldview that makes you think, ``Maybe it could be a life form from outer space like the one in the movie ``Arrival.''
It's such a shame that Solar Ark is being dismantled.
If you are interested, why not go and see the Solar Ark before it is dismantled?
To find the location of Solar Ark, search for "35.330833,136.671361" on Google Maps. This is probably the easiest way to find it.
