See the Taycan running in the Tokyo Marathon
This year too, even before the Tokyo Marathon 2026 took place, I had more and more opportunities to see various Tokyo Marathon-related notices and signs around the city, and I was looking forward to the day of the marathon.

The day of the Tokyo Marathon 2026 arrived: March 1, 2026.
On this day, I went to watch the Tokyo Marathon again, wanting to see the lead car, the Porsche Taycan, which would be running first.
The red Taycan has arrived!

I think last year's lead car was the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package, but this year it was different.

Next up is the Taycan.
This time, there were no Macan EVs in front of or behind the leading group, so I didn't see any at this point.
Still, I'm very happy to be able to see the cool Taycan running in the Tokyo Marathon 2026.

I waited for a while to see if a Macan EV would come along, but it didn't look like it would, so I moved on to my next destination.
Watch the Tokyo Marathon 2026 from Porsche Studio Nihonbashi
Next we headed toPorsche Studio Nihonbashi.

On this day, Porsche Studio Nihonbashi was open to the public as a special hospitality area from the start to the end of the event, so I decided to stop by.
In front of the store, there was a Taycan, just like the Porsche model that ran the Tokyo Marathon together that day...

The Macan EV will also be on display.
It was a warm, sunny and pleasant day, so the vehicles on display looked beautiful and wonderful.

The Tokyo Marathon was broadcast on a large screen inside the Porsche Studio Nihonbashi store, so I was able to not only see the runners actually running in front of me, but also get a sense of the leading group and the overall feel of the marathon at the same time.
Thanks to this, I was able to see the moment when the winner crossed the finish line.

There is also an exhibition of portable shrines inside the store.

This is what it looks like looking out from inside the store. Porsche Studio Nihonbashi is located at the intersection of Eitai-dori and Showa-dori, which is about 15km from the start of the Tokyo Marathon.
It is also on the return route, so it is a great location to watch the Tokyo Marathon.

Porsche also distributed these PORSCHE flags free of charge, so everyone took one and waved it while cheering.
It's a pretty big flag.

Therefore, many of the marathon spectators in this area were cheering on the runners by waving Porsche flags, which was a great sight for Porsche fans (lol).
People from overseas were also having fun taking commemorative photos with Porsche flags in their hands, and even a little distance away we came across children walking around waving PORSCHE flags.

That's right, on this dayMr. Imo Buschmann, who became president of Porsche Japan on August 1, 2025was also at Porsche Studio Nihonbashi.
It was my first time to say hello to him, and he was a very gentlemanly and friendly man with a lovely smile.
Well, I watched from in front of Porsche Studio Nihonbashi for a while, but the other Porsche I was hoping to see, the Macan EV, never showed up.
The Macan EV should have a clock, so I thought there might be a Macan permanently parked somewhere, so I started moving from here.
After leaving Porsche Studio Nihonbashi, we took a walk looking for a spot where the Macan EV might be parked.

This was the first time I walked the Tokyo Marathon route, a little further than usual, and it was fun to see so many different events being held along the route, making the whole city lively.

Also, while I usually just enjoy watching the cosplay of the runners, this time the cheering people along the road were also having fun, with their own faces or the faces of the people they were cheering for printed in large letters to let people know they were there...

With the many yellow buses parked in the background to block the road, even Snow White, whose yellow colour is also eye-catching, was there (lol).

Also, there was a really cute dog on a bicycle parked in front of the store, and I thought, "Is that a stuffed animal?", but when I looked closer, I realized it was a real dog.
Is he going to stay here alone?? He's cute and small, and there were a ton of people there at the time of the Tokyo Marathon, so I was worried he might get kidnapped.
She was so cute that I couldn't help but worry about her.

Anyway, there were already people everywhere heading towards the finish line.
Everyone was cheering for each other, and the atmosphere was very warm and fun everywhere. I think that running in such a wonderful atmosphere with so much support is what allows the runners (especially the general participants) to run so hard.

However, in reality, there is a "cut-off time." For example, at the "33.5km checkpoint" we saw here, if you do not pass this by 14:35, you will not be able to continue running and will be taken to the bus.
I arrived at this location at 14:22. There were 13 minutes left. Go for it! I really want all the runners who have come this far to finish the race, and I can't help but wish them the best.
On the way, we stopped off at Takashimaya for some shopping, had lunch, and enjoyed some drinks, but everyone else was still running during and after our lunch & drinking time. Amazing!

As an aside, the Nishiginza Chance Center near the checkpoint (a lottery ticket shop famous for its winning numbers and the constant queues) was miraculously empty thanks to the Tokyo Marathon, so I immediately bought a Valentine Jumbo ticket, dreaming of buying my next Porsche (lol).
This time, I enjoyed the Tokyo Marathon 2026 by walking right up to the finish line. By the way, it seems that the general public cannot enter the area near the finish line unless they apply for admission.
One last.
During the Tokyo Marathon, traffic restrictions are put in place around the marathon route and many roads are temporarily closed. When these roads are closed, police vehicles and other vehicles are parked diagonally blocking the road.
And as I wrote earlier, there were not only police vehicles but also a line of yellow Hato buses parked blocking the road, and Sagawa Express trucks blocking the road like this one.
I thought it was really cool how the trucks stopped on the road and seemed to say, "Leave this to us!". Strange comment?

Oh. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the Macan EV this time.
Everyone at Porsche Studio Nihonbashi said, "Wow, it was driving around a lot," but I guess they just happened to pass by when I wasn't looking/out there, because I never got to see it.
But I'm sure it was the Macan EVs that were working hard with the clock on them.
That was fun to watch the Tokyo Marathon 2026.
Porsche is also sponsoring next year's Tokyo Marathon 2027, so if I can find the time, I'd like to go and watch the race again.
Thank you to everyone who ran this time ^^
I would also like to thank everyone at Porsche Studio Nihonbashi for their wonderful hospitality. Thank you very much!
