Cayman, this is my first time driving, but I've seen it many times before, so I was familiar with it from the beginning. Cayman especially likes the back view.

Is the engine start sound of 718 Cayman like GT3?

When I started the Cayman engine, I thought that the first momentary sound when I started the engine was more like GT3 than 911 Carrera.

When I started the engine and started running from there, the engine sound was "Cayman's sound", which was completely different from that of 911 Carrera and that of GT3.

However, only the moment I start the engine for the first time, it makes a sound like "Dog!", Rather like when the GT3 engine is started.

The sound after that is, well, I don't know how to express it, but it's completely different from 911! ... But, when I stepped on it, I felt that it was a "low-pitched, roaring sound."

Yes, in a very good sense, it is a "miscellaneous engine sound", and I thought that it would be good for Cayman's character again ^ ^

Personally, I can conclude that I like the sound of 911, but Cayman made a rather noisy roar when he stepped in, so it was fun ^ ^

Somehow, every time I step on it, it becomes a mess, so from the people around me, I think that "That Porsche looks really fast!" I mean. Hmm, I can't express it (laughs)!

718 Cayman's sports exhaust sound difference

This car, sports exhaust was attached this time.

... but that? Isn't the tail pipe out of two centers? I thought, and when I checked it with the configurator, I had to select the "sports tail pipe" option in order to put out two centers.

And what surprised me most was that in the case of the 718 Cayman, the sports exhaust is standard equipment. is that so. I didn't know ~.

Well, that's why the sports exhaust system was attached as standard equipment, so I turned it on and off and compared the difference in sound.

But I'm still running only 5,400km, and maybe the rented one has never turned on the sports exhaust? I don't know, but I couldn't really feel the difference between when it was turned on and when it was turned off.

Of course, there are some differences. However, when I turned the sports exhaust on and off with my 911, there was a more obvious difference in sound, but this time Cayman's Spoeki seems to be like "Hmm? Doesn't it make that much difference?" I see.

After all, I wonder if it's because it wasn't used yet. How is it?

By the way, out of the total of about 900 km that I ran while renting this Cayman this time, probably about 899 km was all running with Spoeki ON, so the sound is getting better a little. I think it's good ^^

Porsche 718 Cayman tire pressure is the same before and after

The tires are Pirelli's Pzero.

Again, I'm addicted to seeing the tire pressure immediately from inside the car, so I was surprised to see the Cayman tire pressure value.

In the case of 911, the rear wheels are set higher than the front wheels, so I suddenly became anxious and immediately confirmed, "Oh? This is all the same!"

That's surprising. Is this what happens with a mid-engined car? ?? I don't know how difficult it is, but anyway, I was impressed by the discovery that "it's the same before and after!"

When I drove the Cayman, I thought that it was fun to step on this car.

It's fun enough to run normally, but if you step on it a little at high speed, the number of revolutions will rise to 7,000 to 7,500 at once, and it will accelerate with a tremendous roar.

Of course, if you continue to step on at full throttle, the speed will increase steadily, but if you run a little distance at full throttle, the number of revolutions will rise at once even before the speed rises to that level, and it will be as it is. It makes a fun sound and makes me feel like "It's kind of fast!" It was fun ^^

No, even in the city, by really stepping on until the next traffic light, it's about 3,000 to 4,000 rotations in the city! It was good to enjoy it. My Cayman is so noisy when moving from signal to signal (laughs).

Porsche Sport Response Button

By the way, this car also comes with a sports chrono package.

Why the Porsche 911 GT3 doesn't have a sports response button

My 911 Carrera doesn't have a sports chrono, and the GT3 is a sports chrono, but it doesn't have this button.

What isn't it? I was wondering, and when I asked someone like my Porsche teacher, he said that this button raises the boost pressure = boosts, so it is not in NA cars. Therefore, 991.1 does not have this 20-second button, but instead has a mode changeover switch (button) for switching to (?) Sport Plus.

I see. It may be obvious when I was told, but I had never thought about it. Convinced. That's why GT3 doesn't have this button.

I thought, "GT3 doesn't need a button, but if you step on it anytime, it's ready in the MAX state, so you don't need a button, I'm sure!" It's too appropriate (laughs).

So what I mean by that is that I've never used this button. So this time, I was really looking forward to this "20 seconds" that I could experience for the first time.

How is it different from just stepping on in normal mode? While thinking about it, change to Sports Plus mode and click the button. Of course, with the accelerator fully open.

Oh oh, the number of revolutions goes up at once again, and it accelerates at once! The feeling of acceleration is different. pleasant! !! Hmmmm, it's not fun, this is it! !! !! !!

I thought it would be impossible to run at full throttle for 20 seconds under Japanese law, because if you were in good shape, you would get a lot of speed. "I want to keep stepping, but I have to keep stepping on ..." After all, in order to ride Porsche in Japan, there is always a fight with reason ^ ^

Therefore, although I had a good time for 20 seconds, I was sad that I wasted a few seconds, but I was able to enjoy the feeling of acceleration within 20 seconds, and this again.The same narcotic feeling as when launch controlIt was fun.

By the way, when fully opened in normal mode and when fully opened after pressing this sports response button in this sports plus mode, the speed starts from the same speed and the speed reaches 20 km / h within the same number of seconds. It was so different ... it was like that.

In simple terms (not the actual number), for example, when the same number of seconds is fully opened, it accelerates to about 100 km / h under normal conditions, but if the same number of seconds is fully opened with the sports response button, the speed is It feels like reaching up to about 120km.

I thought my car didn't have this button and it was the correct answer. If there is, I will use it too much.

718 Cayman How to set and remove the speed limit
