Once the current ICE model is discontinued, the Macan will be sold exclusively as an EV.
Previous Cayenne articleThis is a continuation of the previous article, which was held yesterday.Porsche Annual ConferenceFrom the product roadmap announced at the , this time we will talk about the Macan and its successor? A new model that seems to be.
First up is the fully electric Macan EV, which has already been announced and is on sale. As for the ICE Macan, which is still on sale, once current sales are phased out, the Macan will only be available as a fully electric vehicle.
It seems that the ICE Macan will not be continued.

This means that people who want an ICE Macan will be fighting over new cars as well as used cars!!
...or so I thought, but then something was announced at the same time that made me go, "What?!" It was, "We're developing a new SUV."
It seems that Toyota is considering an independent model line in the SUV segment equipped with both an internal combustion engine and a hybrid powertrain, which could serve as a successor to the ICE Macan (in terms of its positioning).
Even if this new model is released, it won't be until around 2030, so we'll have to wait a while, but if an internal combustion/hybrid SUV with a similar size to the Macan is released, it could be good news for those who want a Macan-sized gasoline engine (or hybrid) SUV in the future.
So what will this new SUV model look like? Well, it's just a rumor, but it's possible that it will share the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture with the next-generation Audi Q5.
Of course, it will also have Porsche's own unique style, a more luxurious interior, and chassis settings that are in line with the brand's identity, giving it a more Porsche-like character.
Spy shots of the new Porsche SUV
In fact, spy shots have already been captured of Porsche testing the new Audi Q5 in February 2025, and it is said that this car may form the basis of the next-generation ICE Macan successor model.

How did we know that the Q5 in this photo was being tested by Porsche? Apparently, the car in question was part of a larger Porsche test group that also included the Boxster and Macan.

It makes you wonder if there is a Q5 in such a Porsche test group.

When this spy shot was taken, I was wondering what the existence of this Q5 meant, but after yesterday's official announcement from Porsche that they were developing a new SUV, I thought "Ah, this could be it!"

They had already made it clear that once the Macan was converted to EV, it would only be EV from now on and development had been carried out along those lines, so it probably wasn't until now that they decided to continue with the ICE Macan. However, I was a bit surprised to see them instead come out with a new SUV that seems almost like a successor to the ICE Macan.

This was another announcement to look forward to!
