New configurator with enhanced functionality

in July 2022Will Porsche's configurator change? I was writing that..

Then!

Porsche officially announced a new configurator on October 5, 2022 ^^ After all, it was a preparation period for that ~.

The newly designed configurator started in Germany first and will be deployed in other countries in the future. Spain and Portugal will be next in the coming weeks.

It may be a while before I come to Japan.

New Porsche cars can now be ordered online

It seems that it will be possible to order a car created with this new configurator online as it is ... However, given that Porsche has many options, it is quite difficult to buy something made online as it is. I feel like that would be the case though ^^

New Porsche configurator for intuitive selection

Well now, I would like to take a look at the new Porsche configurator in Germany that has been released at the moment.

When I tried to access it, the problem that the options I chose so far were not reflected as pictures was solved, but PTS color seems to be unsupported at this time.

Until now, it was necessary to select an option from only the text at first glance, but from the new one, "What will happen after selecting that option" is already shown in the image, so you can select more intuitively I think it's becoming

For example, when selecting this interior, the large image displayed will also change to that of the interior of the car, and if you select your favorite interior color etc. on the right side, it will be reflected in the image, making it easier to imagine than before.

In addition, what will happen after the change is already displayed in the image at the option selection, so this is also easy to understand = easy to imagine.

However, it takes a few seconds for the selected option to be reflected in the main image.

In this day and age where we are used to the speed of the Internet and apps, it feels like it takes a long time for the selected items to be reflected.

It would be great if you could reflect it a little more ^^

Still, for example, the light options are switched with a large image like this, so it is easy to understand (the difference in appearance), so it seems to be useful when the option is a new design.

This is when "LED Main Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)" is selected ↓

And this is when "LED Matrix main headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)" is selected ↓

And this is when "Tinted LED Main Headlights with Matrix Beam including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)" is selected.

It may be difficult to see the difference from the above, but if you actually try switching with the configurator, you will understand the difference.

After that, it's a bit painful that there is no price notation yet when selecting options.

If the price is not written, I will add more and more things I like without worrying about it, so I'm afraid I'll see a scary number at the end (laughs).

Aero kit tie-in?

One more thing, is this a bug at the moment? The 911 Carrera configurator I tried this time started with the aero kit attached from the beginning.

That's good, but I didn't need it for the time being, so I tried deleting the aero kit, but after selecting various other options, for some reason, every time I selected another option, the aero kit was deleted. I'll be back (laughs).

It seems that it happens when you select the option that says "Exclusive Manufaktur", but even so, if you select the "Exclusive Manufaktur" option, it doesn't necessarily mean that the aero kit will be installed, right? ? Was it? ? No, no.

That's why now, if I add the options I want, the aero kit I don't need (for me) will also come with it, so I couldn't finally make a satisfying configuration, but it was fun. "Aero is back!"

Mr. Porsche, I wonder if the aero kit option tying commercial law finally came out ^ ^

Even so, the strange thing is that every time I was asked to wear an aero kit, I thought "I don't need it" at first, but as I watched it, it looked so cool that I thought I might as well wear it. I can think of something (Porsche's strategy? It's completely messed up (laughs)).

At the end, the Porsche I made is displayed in a gallery like a model introduction on the Porsche official website, so this makes me feel better.

In the future, I would like to look forward to the day when the new configurator will be further improved and it will be deployed in Japan ^ ^

*I only tried the 911 Carrera this time, so I haven't checked other models.
