Porsche has announced plans to enter up to four cars (six including customer teams) in the 2026/2027 Formula E season (season 13). Porsche is the current Manufacturers' World Champion.
It was also announced that Porsche customer teams will be competing in Season 13.

The six planned Porsche 99X Electrics are next-generation GEN4 Formula E cars with an output of over 600kW, and are expected to be the most significant performance upgrade for a purely electric race car to date.

Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President Porsche Motorsport, said:
- Motorsport shapes the Porsche brand
- Porsche's history in traditional motorsport is unique and that spirit is reflected in every Porsche. We want to be able to say the same about electric motorsport in the future.
- "Compared to other racing series, Formula E offers a very attractive balance between the effort and the return. It also provides us with the opportunity to further develop the technical solutions that are important for mass-produced sports cars. With these operational changes, we hope to discover and develop new talent in all areas, not just drivers."
- The second team will also be based at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach.
- When operating the additional machines, we would like to maintain as much independence as possible rather than simply expanding the current system.
- Next year marks the 75th anniversary of Porsche motorsport, and its history of success will now also be shaped by the story of electric motorsport.
