Formula E: Porsche has a new team name and new partner: TDK

The new team name will no longer include Tag Heuer and will be called "Porsche Formula E Team."

Until now, Porsche has been competing in Formula E under the team name "TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team", but it will be competing in the next season 12(Starting in December 2025) announced that the TAG Heuer name would be removed from the team name and it would become "Porsche Formula E Team."

Of course, this does not mean that TAG Heuer has ended the partnership, and will continue as a partner next season.

However, it appears that the partnership will be slightly smaller than before, which means that the Tag Heuer name will no longer be included in the team name.

TAG Heuer

TAG Heuer is a Swiss luxury watch brand that has built a long-standing partnership with Porsche, centered on innovation and motorsports. Founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer in the Swiss Jura region, TAG Heuer is now part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's largest luxury group. The company employs over 1,500 people and operates in 139 countries. Its collaboration with Porsche extends from competitive motorsports activities to product development.

Mobil 1

Mobil 1 is the world's first lubricant brand to develop fully synthetic engine oil. Its advanced technology provides high-performance protection for engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components, even in harsh environments. Since its launch in 1974, the company has continued to innovate, using motorsports as a testing ground for technological development, to provide products that optimize engine performance, efficiency, and durability. The Porsche Motorsports team has also used Mobil 1 products for over 25 years, and they are used as transmission oil in Formula E.

TDK Corporation

TDK Corporation, a global leader in electronic and magnetic technologies headquartered in Tokyo, will serve as the official technology partner of the Porsche Formula E team from next season. The collaboration between the two companies focuses on technological exchange aimed at developing next-generation electric powertrain systems, with TDK providing its expertise in magnetic materials, energy storage solutions, and sensor technology. This will support the development of the Porsche 99X Electric's powertrain, maintaining maximum efficiency and performance, further solidifying the car's success in Formula E.

LOCTITE

Loctite is a global leader in high-performance adhesives and sealants. It has long been known for its innovation, precision, and technical excellence. As part of the Henkel Group, the company provides solutions for a wide range of high-tech industries, from mechanical engineering to motorsport. Its collaboration with Porsche Motorsport began in 2022, when it became the technology partner of the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team, helping the team win three world championship titles. In 2025, Loctite expanded its activities to the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, becoming the official adhesive partner of Porsche Penske Motorsport. Its high-performance adhesive technology significantly contributes to improving the structural strength and reliability of the Porsche 963.

PUMA

PUMA, a global sports brand, is the exclusive partner of Porsche Motorsport in the field of fire-resistant clothing, shoes, and luggage. The racing suits worn by Porsche's works drivers and the overalls of the pit crew meet the latest fire safety standards, ensuring the highest level of safety in motorsport. Last season, the partnership expanded to include specially designed clothing for the entire team. These garments are used both on and off the track and embody the shared values of both brands: innovative materials, functional design, and the highest quality.

Synopsys

Ansys (Synopsys from next season) is a leader in engineering simulation, bridging the gap between the design phase and the finished product. For over 50 years, Ansys has been helping customers across a wide range of industries expand the possibilities of technology through its predictive analytics software. Applications range from sustainable logistics, advanced semiconductor technology, satellite systems and even life-saving medical technologies.

NetApp

NetApp continues to collaborate with Porsche Motorsport as its exclusive partner in the field of intelligent data infrastructure, providing ongoing technical support to the Porsche Formula E team and also supporting Porsche Penske Motorsport, which competes in endurance races.

Cato Networks

Cato Networks is a leading company in cloud-based SASE solutions that integrate networking and security on a single platform. As the technology partner of the Porsche Formula E team, Cato Networks securely and flexibly connects all of the team's locations, from the pits to the development center, in real time. This allows the team to build a high-performance and stable IT infrastructure, enabling them to focus on strategy and performance.

Porsche Formula E in the 2025/2026 season

Porsche, the reigning Teams and Manufacturers World Champion, will enter its seventh season in Formula E in the 2025/2026 season (Season 12), with its factory Porsche Formula E Team and its US customer team, Andretti Formula E, competing with the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric equipped with the latest generation GEN3 Evo.

Another Porsche customer team participating is the Cupra Kiro, which is equipped with 99X technology inherited from the previous generation GEN3.

Up until this 11th season, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team has achieved 13 wins and three world championships since starting its participation in 2019.

Even if the team name continues to be Porsche Formula E Team, I hope that with the same partner companies as before plus one additional company, it will become an even better team.

Who will be the driver for the Porsche Formula E team?

Separately, it was recently announced that António Félix da Costa, one of Porsche's Formula E team drivers, will be leaving the team from next season.

The other driver, Pascal Wehrlein, will remain with the team, but the next driver to replace António Félix da Costa for the Porsche team has not yet been announced.

I'm also looking forward to seeing who will join the Porsche Formula E team as a driver.

On October 13, 2025, Porsche officially announced that the drivers for the next season would be Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Müller.

Nico has previously been a member of Andretti, a Porsche client team, but will now be moving to Porsche itself (the factory team).
