Changes in 718 models from March 29, 2023 (overseas)
On March 29, 2023, some changes in the 718 became visible due to the upload of what seems to be a notice document within Porsche on an overseas bulletin board.
Of course, if all of the information that was uploaded was a fabrication, it would mean that the content is not true, but Porsche has since confirmed the content, so it is correct information.
In the text published this time, the content notified was "changes and additions to the 718 model (MY23) on the configurator from March 29, 2023".
* The schedule is for overseas, and it is unknown when all of them will be applied to Japanese configurators.
The target 718 models are listed there, and the following 718 models are listed:
- 718 Cayman
- 718 Cayman Style Edition
- 718 Cayman S
- 718 Cayman GTS 4.0
- 718 Cayman GTS RS
- 718 Boxster
- 718 Boxster Style Edition
- 718 Bostor S
- 718 Boxster GTS 4.0
And the problem is the content written in ( ) at the end of this list, which is "(718 T, Spider, and GT4 models are discontinued)".
Since the word "Discontinue" is used for this "discontinued" word, the production of these models will be discontinued not only for the MY24, but for the foreseeable future.
According to Porsche, ``We will produce other models (even MY24) other than these three.''
By the way, other contents written as changes/additions on the configurator are:
- 718 Cayman S standard wheels will be 19-inch Boxster S wheels (19-inch Cayman S wheels will be discontinued)
- CD/DVD player abolished in production (from September production)
- Discontinued Carrara White Metallic
- Python green discontinued
- Aventurine green metallic discontinued
- Espresso color discontinued for leather interior (from November production)
- Espresso/cognac with leather interior is also abolished (from November production)

- (Reminder) The optional PDLS+ LED headlights have been replaced with PDLS LED headlights (without auto high beam function) due to lack of camera modules.
- 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels are discontinued
- Added new option 656 electronic steering column adjustment (from November production)
- BOSE is still restricted, so it is not included in the package, but it can be attached as an individual option.
- Automatic emergency braking is not available on 718 models, so manual transmission is recommended whenever possible
- PCCB brake pads for 718 GT4 RS have been updated and improved
- Fire extinguisher option changed from steel to aluminum
